A Christmas Story

This year marks the 25th anniversary since A Christmas Story was released back in 1983. Apparently it bombed at the box office, but it has without a doubt gone on to become one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time.  Way too many classic moments, but after the jump are a few.

Best Holiday Gift

big-wheel

Yesterday a friend and I were having a conversation about gifts, and if we had any favorite gift moments.  It’s one of those questions that can be hard to pinpoint just one. Different items at different times in your life have greatly different meaning and importance. But I couldn’t help going back to my 7th or 8th birthday when I got a Big Wheel as a gift. This thing kept me busy for weeks, until too many e-brake slideouts ripped holes in the back wheels.  Those were definitely some good times.

Anybody else have any favorites?

Iron Eagle

Yesterday I was watching a little bit of When Animals Attack, and it was being hosted by Oscar award winner Louis Gossett Jr. Every time I see him on TV there is only one thing I think…Iron Eagle. This was another one of this movies that was in my  childhood rotation of movies…Hotshot, RAD, Iron Eagle, Goonies, etc. Here’s to you Chappy.

Bumpy Pitch Hoodies

When I was a kid, ET had to have been one of my favorite movies.  I even dressed up as the dude for a Halloween costume. The movie was a classic and one that I still watch every time it is on HBO. Looking back though, the movie inspired more than the obvious.  One of the things that stands out to me about ET, which is visible in the clip above, is how the kids were rocking hoodies. We might see hoodies all over the place now, but ET is where I first got hip to them. With that in mind, we are on our way to check out the first Bumpy Pitch hoodies. We’ve have been getting crazy requests for Bumpy Pitch hoodies, but we have been taking our time and making sure that they are right. Doing a hoodie is one thing, but trying to do a hoodie that you can wear for years has been something we have been hard at work on. We’ll have some sneak peaks of the hoodies soon, and we have another sweatshirt in the mix that will prove to be a classic as well. In the meantime, check out the clip above and see where the hoodie fascination began.

USA World Cup 1994

usa-1994-1

I’ll never forget the 1994 World Cup. I was a teenager, I was having world class soccer played in my home town, I was entrusted with a stack full of tickets to sell (which treated me very well)..and most importantly, I was experiencing something I never thought I would see. The US team was doing its thing, world class soccer was being played in my backyard, soccer was the talk of the town and I will never forget that bike that Marcelo hit off the cross bar. Life was simple, times were good and the US team was doing more than I ever imagined.  The only thing negative thing I can remember was the US jersey above. I’m not sure who designed it,  but hopefully I will get the chance to ask this person what they were thinking. Props for playing well, but damn this jersey was whack. All in all we have come a very long way.

Bumpy Pitch Deadstock Now Available

Filed under: Bumpy Pitch, Classics, Lemonrags

st-louis-stars

deadstock  - Brand-new condition, unsold vintage merchandise. Normally will have original tags and/or packaging

We get a lot of calls and emails about some of the shirts that we have released in the past and asking if we will ever be offering them again. We’re never sure if we will re-visit previous styles or not, so in the meantime we have come up with a solution to get that out of print shirt. We have opened up the BP vault to our boy Raul and his store Lemonrags.  We have partnered with Lemonrags and are selling all of our deadstock merchandise with them. Most of these shirts will never be made again, and each style has a very limited amount that are left. So if you see one that you like, don’t sleep. But we wanted to at least make what was left available. All shirts are available exclusively at Lemonrags and be purchased in store or online. Click here to head to the Lemonrags site, and check out a few of the styles available after the jump.

adidas ZX Racer

I will always be a fan of clean and classic. These adidas ZX Racers fit that description. With so many styles having come out over the summer, it is good to see these return to a more classic aesthetic.
