Claude Makelele To PSG Done

Filed under: Claude Makelele, France, PSG

UPDATE - Makelele’s move is official as he’s come to terms with Ligue 1 side Paris St. Germain after spending 5 years and playing out his contract at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea.

Makelele’s initial move from Real Madrid cost Chelsea 16.8 Million Pound and caused a stir in the Spanish capital with many of the Galactico’s unhappy that their most underrated / most coveted player was sold.

The move to Paris will reunite the 35 year old with his partner and son who live in the city.

Ashley Cole Injury In Run Through Session

Filed under: Ashley Cole, Chelsea, Claude Makelele

UPDATE - Here’s the video of that tackle on Ashley Cole.

Joe Cole Injury

What is it with all the injuries going on during Chelsea training sessions?

As if things couldn’t get any worse for Ashley Cole, a kick from Claude Makelele on his right ankle was enough to force the England left back out of training. He did try to return, but left before the session was over.

With 24 hours left before the 2008 Champions League Final vs Manchester United and a crack medical staff at your disposal, I say Ashley Cole is in the starting 11.

Wayne Bridge must have been doing somersaults for a quick minute.

Claude Makelele

Everyone has always known the ability of Frenchman Claude Makelele, but FIFA.com has a great story chronicling his history in France, Spain and England, as well as International success and disappointment.

Check the quote at the bottom of the page from Fernando Hierro about Makelele’s importance to the success of Real Madrid’s Championship squads.
