Longtime Crew player and assistant coach Robert Warzycha was named head coach by the team today. The Siemkowice, Poland, native arrived in Columbus in 1996 and played for the Crew until his retirement in 2002. “He is an ideal fit within our club culture,” GM McCullers said. “He is someone who bleeds black and gold.”

USMNT Coach Bob Bradley hinted at the type of squad he’ll call for the February 11th match (in SLC?) mentioning that MLS isn’t in season.
“That time of year for MLS players is obviously a challenge because they aren’t playing games,” the coach explained, a sign that he’ll call more European-based players for the vital fixture.

According to the AP, Gary Smith has been named head coach of the Colorado Rapids. Smith took over from Fernando Clavijo in August and was given the interim title. Looks like that title has been removed with Smith being officially announced as the Rapids head coach.
