Dunny recently mentioned the Skullcandy headphones he uses when he calls games for Fox Soccer Channel. I will co-sign and say that they are really fresh and the sound quality is amazing. Well we have just received a brand new pair from Skullcandy and we want to give them to you. In order to win them, we are holding a contest. We just received the pair of Nomis Boots that we have been telling you about. We will announce a winner early next week and get the boots out to the winner asap. I gotta say, these boots are pretty nice. They have a really interesting, yet soft upper, laces on the side, they are pretty lightweight and somewhat sleek. It is not easy to break into the boot world when you are going up against giants like Nike, adidas, Puma, etc. But we’ll see what Nomis is able to accomplish. All I can say is somebody is going to be happy with these boots.

There is a new boot maker on the scene and they go by the name Nomis. Created by ex-adidas VP Simon Skirrow, Nomis is all about “making the right boot.” With so much chatter surrounding top professional players and the injuries they have sustained in recent years ( just think metatarsal injuries and their effect on the England team), Nomis has set out to create an alternative boot to those of the big boot manufacturers. They actually have a campaign under way right now with the Johannes Leonardo store in Berlin that is creative and unique. It goes something like this:
“The Right Boot Store is based on the fact that the human body is the perfect mechanism to compare the quality of one boot against another. Customers can simply walk into the store, choose a Right Boot that fits, take it home at absolutely no cost and test it by wearing their current boot on their left foot. If customers prefer the Nomis Right Boot after 2 weeks, Nomis will send them the matching left boot and the price of a regular pair.”

So yesterday I watched 24 hours worth of Jackass after the guys took over the MTV studios Saturday. It got me thinking about how much fun you can have and still make money doing it. After coming to the attention of Blackburn scouts following his win at a juggling competition, 17 year old midfielder and part time Plasterer Andy Marrow was given a month long trial with the Lancashire club. This past week the youngster was given his debut with the Reserve team, beating Manchester United Reserves 2-1 and winning himself a contract at Ewood Park, similar to the way the club found striker Matt Derbyshire.
