This is the second music video directed by Lorcan Finnegan for Dublin band Sickboy.
“There are a few idea behind this video; two of the band members, Colm and Brian are identical twin brothers - like carbon copies of each other, which got me interested in the idea of copying and reproduction of images. I was also interested in the aesthetic of the home made fliers and self promotional material being produced by local bands, often cracked and torn black and white photocopies showing a picture of the band and a date etc. Also the idea of animating ’silent’ photocopies of a face smushed up against the glass of a photocopier to make it appear as though they are singing was part of the idea.. So I photocopied colm’s face in a photocopier and got him to move it around as the light from the copier passed his face to create distortions - we made hundreds of photocopies with all the main mouth/facial shapes needed for lip sync. Then I shot them playing on whitescreen, photocopied the frames etc - put the mouth shapes in order and photographed them etc. I think it worked out pretty well in the end…”

What if Willy Wonka wasn’t that weird, kinda pervy candy guy, but instead a bit more dark?
We all know they do things big in Dubai. Big hotels, big man made islands, very big wallets, and coming next year, the biggest water fountain in the world. This fountain will clock in at 825 feet long, 25% bigger than the fountains at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. On top of this, a network of 6,600 lights and 50 projectors will light up the continuosly growing Dubai skyline. Ree-dic-u-lous! More pics after the jump.
A yearly tradition some friends and I attend in Santa Barbara. A win on so many levels.

Today Beans, Ace and I had to head over to Downtown to pick some things up from our guy Fred.
At the end of the day, this is what it’s all about.
White, Navy and GLACIER. Yes, Glacier.
For the first time in awhile yesterday I rocked my indoor Samba’s and I forgot how simple and comfortable they are.
Then as I cruised around, running errands, hitting Runyun Canyon and heading over to Santa Monica to play with the Hollywood United boys, I saw at least ten pairs of Samba’s hitting the pavement as well and it got me thinking.
How long before our subculture (and by that I mean all of us who represent the game daily in our own ways) doesn’t have to make people understand or explain why this game is relevant to us and the rest of the world?

Starring Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, Chris Isaak and the late Brad Renfro.
Big fan of American Psycho and Rules of Attraction, so I will definitely be lining up to see this one.
