After doing $66 million in it’s first day of release, it looks like The Dark Knight is going to break the previous record for biggest opening weekend. Spiderman 3 held the previous record when it did $151.1 million in it’s opening weekend back in May 2007/ But now it looks like The Dark Knight will beat that with a record box opening of $155.3 million. That is some serious scratch for one weekend.

With The Dark Knight opening this weekend, what better time to release the trailer for The Watchmen, one of the most celebrated graphic novels of all time. The flick might not be dropping until spring of 2009, but there is no better time to start building up the excitement than showing the trailer before The Dark Knight.
