Domenech Drops Nasri

Filed under: David Trezeguet, France, Friendlies, Samir Nasri, Sweden

Samir Nasri

You were the youngster member of the French 2008 Euro team at the age 0f 20, just earned an 11 Million Pound move to the Premiership with Arsenal, the coach Raymond Domenech somehow kept his job after the disaster of a tournament France had and with their first friendly against Sweden in which Domenech has stated it’s the youth’s turn to take center stage, you’re not named?

Ummmmm, am I missing something or is there a serious problem with Samir Nasri that we on the outside looking in don’t know about?

Domenech named English based Arsenal full-backs Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna, Manchester United’s Patrice Evra, William Gallas (Arsenal), Lassana Diarra (Portsmouth) and Chelsea forwards Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda.

Is Nasri the new Trezeguet?

Former Frenchman David Trezeguet scored his typical offside, goal poaching redirection finish to put away Arsenal on the home field, although Adebayor came close to evening things up.

Trezeguet Out - Domenech Names 23 For Finals

Filed under: David Trezeguet, Euro 2008, France

DOUBLE UPDATE - Matheiu Flamini has been recalled by Raymond Domenech after Patrick Vieira injured his left ankle and will miss (at the very least) the opening match of the 2008 Euros against Romania on June 9th. Vieira has already missed both warm up matches against Ecuador and Paraguay.

I always wonder how players deal with being cut and then recalled less than a week later. Was Flamini on vacation or is he still pissed about being cut?

Every team has until Sunday to make changes to their squads as it’s the final day for roster deadlines.

UPDATE - France head coach Raymond Domenech has let go some huge names in the world of international football while naming his 23 man roster for the 2008 European Championships.

Djibril Cisse, Phillipe Mexes, Matheiu Flamini and Alou Diarra will miss out on the finals with the surprising moves.

The biggest surprise for the French with Cisse’s exclusion was the inclusion of Bafetimbi Gomis, though it was well deserved after scoring two goals against Ecuador after his second half International debut.

Is Trezeguet not good enough for Euro 2008?

Filed under: David Trezeguet, Euro, France, WTF

France coach Raymond Domenech has once again left David Trezeguet out of his squad, this time for France’s friendlies against the Congo and Spain. After this last snub, the Juve hitman has gone public, finally conceding that he won’t be a part of Domenech’s plans for this summers Euro 2008.
