FIFA STreet 3 x Ryan Geez

In an effort to help promote FIFA Street 3, EA Sports teamed with Ryan Geez (and it looks like 4 other artists) to issue a promotional ball.  Looks like Ryan Geez went with a basketball inspired ball to play off the whole street thing as much as possible. It appears that they are giving these balls away, and that all you need to do is answer some fairly simple questions that any soccer fan will know. For more info and to enter to win a ball, head here now.

Holygame

Holygame

If you are like me, then you look at soccer as a religion. There are millions of us that follow the sport faithfully, and design firm +41 and Nike have used this faith asinspiration for their “HolyGame”. According to Josh Spear, “Their installation, a part of the Nike 1/1 project, made up of Football shoes laced to each other and surrounding a soccer ball comes off as a remarkable religious prayer monument of sorts that might even prompt those immersed in the fanaticism of the football cult to bow and pay homage to that sport which they hold most dear.” I’m with that…If you happen to be in Switzerland this June, pop by the Art Basel Show and peep this for yourself.

The New British Currency

Filed under: Design, Great Britain, Money in the Bank

The British Pound

With the US dollar becoming worth less and less, getting paid in British currency seems like a good idea. Now that idea is about to become even better, at least visually. Matthew Dent, an English based designer has won a competition to design the new British currency. As you can see the new coins look pretty slick, and might just make people want to hold on to their money that much more.

Pickup Games Tron Style

Nike Virtual pack

For those of us who have to work during the day, it can be difficult to make it out to the park for that pickup game before it gets too dark. This inevitably leads to long stretches where the only way you get to play soccer is on your PS3 or XBox. Well Nike has gone ahead and changed this. Along with designer Pierre Haulot, Nike has created the Virtual pack which is a glow in the dark spray paint that can be used to create goals, sidelines, a glowing ball, etc. The paint disappears after two hours, so you have plenty of time to get your  game on. This is going to make night soccer a whole lot more interesting. If anyone picks up this pack and puts it to use send us some pics.

These Are Too Cool

Swiss Army Chairs

I got this picture off of Cool Hunter, and it is from the Chanel Mobile Art that is circulating through Asia, the United States and Europe for the next couple of years. If you are into art and design this is a really fresh exhibit and showcases why Chanel is such a forward thinking brand. Peep thee picture above and check out how fly the swiss army knife chairs, the big toy bear and the soccer box are. I could use some of those in the crib for sure. Ripple 12

You’ve got to give it to the creators of the Ripple 12 faucet for creativity alone.  When the water is hot, the surface area turns red and when the water is cold, well you do the math.  Pretty hot if you ask me.

Collaborations That Work

Filed under: Design, Furniture, House Hunting

Pool table

The last few days have been pretty crazy. Meetings with Hollywood people, lots of interest in Bumpy Pitch and what we are doing, people contacting us left and right about collaborations and  loads on the horizon, times have been busy. There will be more on all of this to come as we finalize certain things! On top of this, I get a call late last night saying I have to move out of my house. The time frame to move out is crazy quick, so I am officially on the hunt. I would vent right now, but I’m sure nobody wants to hear about it.  Anyhoo, looked at a few houses today, and as many of you know, when you look at a new place you immediately start thinking of what you could put in each room and how it would look. I had come across these hybrid tables earlier in the day, and each house I looked at made me wonder how a dining/pool table would work. Basically these pool tables are very sleek dining room tables that you can convert to either pool or card tables. The pool cues and balls can actually be stored underneath the table so as not to take away from the aesthetics. Typically this type of thing is shoddy and it’s looks are not much better. But I thought this version was cool and held some promise. I’m not sure if one of these will make it into the new pad, but it if does, game night at my house!

Tony Poulson Puts it Down

Tony Paulson Painting

For the recent Bumpy Pitch Spring Party we hosted, our boy Tony flew into town and hit us off with some original artwork for the night. Not only did Tony fly in the day of, but he also knocked out this piece in a matter of hours. Subtle hints of detail are embedded in the artwork that pay tribute to the party itself. Keep an eye out for some new Bumpy Pitch x Tony Poulson creations in the future. Good looking out TP!

Will the Real Dunny Please Stand Up!

Dunny Kid Robot

My boy Dunny and I go way back. From competing at the youth team and high school level, to playing in college together, to ending up playing with the US U-23’s. For as long as I can remember we called him Dunny, that’s just the way it has always been. But for the last 6 years there has been another Dunny on the scene. This new Dunny comes in the form of little toys from the super cool toy and apparel brand that is Kidrobot.

If you are unfamiliar with Kidrobot, head on over to their site and see what makes them a global sensation and why some of their toys go for upwards of $20,000. I think I’m gonna have to contact Kidrobot and see about doing a Bumpy Pitch x Kidrobot Dunny Dunny!

[Ed. note, the Dunny toys pictured above are the French inspired Dunny models]

It’s Been A Long Time…

Bumpy Pitch Spring

I’m feeling like it’s been a while since I have posted on here. I know it hasn’t been that long, but I feel a bit like a parent who has neglected one of their children, so I feel a little me time with this site is needed. The last couple of weeks have been crazy around here. We had the Bumpy Pitch spring party last week (I will get some pictures of that posted soon), we had to get all the spring orders ready to be shipped out, which we finally finished up today. Not to mention we are in the middle of a little visual upgrade for this site here, we’re working on the summer line, beginning the fall line, we have some brand new projects in the works that we will announce soon, blah, blah, blah. Needless to say that has made it somewhat difficult to post much this week. Anyhoo, as I mentioned, spring has been shipped to stores, if you want to know if any stores around you carry Bumpy Pitch, just hit us up and we’ll fill you in. The summer line is going to have some dope shirts and fall will be bananas. Stay tuned for our upgrade we are doing to this site as well.
