London Underground Workers Strike Threatens Travel To Wembley

Definitely not good news for the English Football Association as the London Underground Worker’s announced they were striking for 48 hours, starting Tuesday evening and putting a massive question to the 70,000 supporters traveling to Wembley for the World Cup Qualifier between England and Andorra.

Southampton Set For League One After 10 Point Deduction

Southampton FC

After being more than adamant that their parent company’s placement into administration wouldn’t affect the club, the Football League has officially docked the 23rd place Championship club 10 points for breaching “Insolvency Regulations”, effectively relegating the club to League One next season.

Very rarely do you see ownership in the Premier League come out firing in the press the way Fulham owner Mohamed Al Fayed has after being quoted in the London Evening Standard.  Frustrated over the 17% rise in expenses and the lack of the Football Association to impose a salary cap, Al Fayed’s call for his fellow chairman’s need for “big balls” is quite fascinating and definitely a first.

Parliament Committee Accuses Financial Doping By Top Clubs

The All Party Parliamentary Football Group has produced 27 recommendations following a year long investigation concerning the recent splurge of top English clubs using “ludicrous levels of borrowing”, then backsiding the profits to pay off a majority of the large debts incurred.

Southampton’s Parent Company Placed In Administration

Southampton

Southampton FC has released an official statement confirming that parent company Southampton Leisure Holdings Plc was put into administration after it was no longer able to pay it’s debts. That being said, the Saints higher ups are very adamant that the club is safe, unaffected and will not face a 10 point penalty from the Football League as the club itself is not in Administration although they ARE on the lookout for a buyer as soon as possible.

FA Grants Hull City More Time In Cesc Incident

The Cesc Fabregas “spitting” accusations continue as the FA has announced they’ve decided to give Hull City more time to compile evidence on what exactly went down between the Spanish International and Hull City Assistant Brian Horton in the tunnel following Arsenal’s 2 - 1 FA Cup Replay at Emirates Stadium.

Makes you wonder what really happened after the game with Phil Brown and Hull City’s insistance to take this as far as possible.
