This Just Arrived in the Mail

manchester-united-scarf

I love getting unexpected pleasant surprises in the  mail. And that’s exactly what I just got. My boy Paulie Walnuts recently moved back to London from LA, and he just sent me this scarf. Paulie, who is a life long Gooner supporter, recently made the pilgrimage to Old Trafford and had a life altering experience being there (at least that’s how I like to envision it going). While he was there he picked up the 2008 Champion’s League winners scarf for me, a keychain and some blades of grass from the Old Trafford pitch. I can’t imagine Paulie will be switching allegiance anytime soon, so I’m sure we will be back to our long winded United v Arsenal arguments.

Good looking out Paulie!

Forever the Sickest Kids at Warped Tour

ftsk-1

After a couple days lounging poolside in Palm Springs, I made my way back to LA yesterday and headed down to the Home Depot Center (which looked a lot different from when Dunny and I were down there a couple days ago for the Galaxy v Chivas game) with Ray Reezy to catch the last stop of The Warped Tour and catch up with the cats from Forever The Sickest Kids. After three straight months on the road, their last performance on Warped Tour was incredible and these dudes deserve the two days they have off before heading back out. As a clincher to it all, Jonathan got to close out the entire tour by joining up with Gym Class Heroes and helping Travis on Cupid’s Chokehold. Not a bad way to close things out. Keep an eye out for these dudes, very big things are headed their way and they deserve every bit of it! More pics after the jump.

Heading Back to Downtown

I gotta head back downtown to check up once again on the Bumpy Pitch samples. There is one more process that the shirts have to go through, and I need to check up on them before they can take their final step in the process.  WithThe X Games in town, and the Staples Center as one of the venues, downtown is popping off right now with events and activity. The Standard Hotel (the picture above is The Standard’s rooftop pool) is at at the center of all of this attention. The hotel has been booked exclusively for athletes and celebrities so you know good times are over flowing there. I have some friends staying at the hotel as they are a part of the festivities, so a quick lunch break at the hotel before heading off to our manufacturer is definitely in order. I’ll post some pictures later. Back in a bit…

Out and About In Los Angeles

verne-troyer

I started off my day early with a meeting in downtown LA finally being able to check out some new Bumpy Pitch samples. We’ve changed a few things up (more to come on that soon) and I was finally able to meet up with our manufacturer and see how things are coming along. Thankfully the new gear is coming along incredibly (you never know until you can see and feel the product) so I was able to leave downtown and head up to Sherman Oaks.

Our cohort and fellow DP Shawn over at The Offside Rules hipped us to the fact that MLS Insider will be Twittering away from Toronto during the All Star Festivities. Definitely the best way I can think of to stay in the loop with all that will be taking place up in Toronto.  Click here to subscribe to the Twitter feed.

Weekend Recap - Red Bull and ADICUP

As Dunny mentioned, we went down and saw Ronnie Renner break the record for jumping a motorcycle on Friday, and then on Saturday we went and caught up with a bunch of friends at the ADICUP. Two really great events pulled off by two companies that know how to represent.

Pictures from both events are after the jump. (more…)

This is my boy DJ Goldfingers. Originally from Detroit, Goldfingers has been crushing it out here in LA and is set up for some big things in the near future. He just hit me off with a link to an hour long mix he put together. It’s a dope mix of styles and showcases my boys skills on the decks. CLICK HERE to check it out. It’s always good to see your fam succeeding at what they are passionate about, and Goldfingers is winning for sure. For a few other mini mixes, head to his MySpace page.

The Wolf’s Lair

Everyday I read through a ton of different sites looking for new info and what not. Every once in awhile I check in over at Baller House and see what they have going on.  About once a week or so they will put some houses up on the site that are for sale and that come with some serious price tags. The houses are usually in incredible locations around the world and are some on other level type houses. Today I came across this house on their site that is on the market for $7.5 million and is up Beechwood Canyon not far from Lake Hollywood.  The crazy thing for me about this house is I went to a party there a few years back with my boy Ray. While at the party, we saw our friends Ima Robot perform and got to drink some burgundy with E-40 while getting a lesson in his own unique vocabulary. The party was off the hook and the house was unforgettable. If you have an extra $7.5 million and are looking for an incrdible house to throw parties at, this might be for you.

Tacos - Sunset Style

pinches-tacos

Today has been one of those days where I feel like I have hit all corners of LA. Downtown, the Westside, SFV, Pasadena, SFV, etc. Meetings and the like have taken us around town today. I would actually be hitting the South Bay as well, but I can’t make training with Hollywood United tonight. With all this running around, Ace, Dunny and I found a little bit of time to try out Pinches Tacos on Sunset. I hadn’t been there before, but I wanted to give it a whirl based on the name alone. I think it almost put Ace and Dunny into a food coma, but it was actually pretty good.

The Chateau Marmont makes for a nice backdrop
