FC Dallas at Real Salt Lake - Highlights

Another Real Game, another night at Rio Tinto. Saturdays game however was accompanied by warmer weather which made for a perfect night to enjoy a cold beer (or two or three) and good company.
I didn’t get back from the UCSB game at Cal Poly until 2.30am, so it was off to nap before hitting LAX at 5.30am for my Delta flight to the SLC.
Got a sweet little First Class surprise (I’ve only flown up with the Riches three times) when I got there, so the flight was just that much more comfortable. Max and I headed over to the Radisson for our 10am production meeting.
Big 6 point Western Conference swing tonight for the winner of FC Dallas at Real Salt Lake on FSC. And some damn good sub-plots going on as well.
Kenny Cooper was invited to the USMNT camp to prepare for Trinidad and Tobago, but instead will be staying with FC Dallas to get healthy and prepare for the big game at RSL. KC speaks…
“…I feel so fortunate and honored to have been invited to join up with the U.S. Men’s National team in Trinidad and Tobago. I made the difficult decision to pass on this opportunity because I had picked up a virus and have been playing with a sprained ankle. Considering the importance of my club’s game versus Real Salt Lake this week, and that the National Team has already clinched a berth in the next round of qualifying, I felt it was the right thing to do to stay in Dallas and make sure I get well, and hopefully there will be other opportunities down the line.”
My perch during last night’s Toronto FC at FC Dallas match.
Mike, monitor, lineups and notes.
A little Cheesecake Factory after the game, an early flight back to LAX and hitching a ride to long term parking.
Pretty massive game for both sides Saturday on FSC.
It was “Buck a Brat” and “Dollar Beer Night” for the Thursday ESPN2 game, plus if you bought two tickets online you received a “Super Cooper” t-shirt. Still, this was not a great example of “the beautiful game” and the attendance issues at FCD continue to be a concern.
Cooper is showing no signs of slowing down btw.
