Pretty massive game for both sides Saturday on FSC.
From FSC to HDC to FSC
Filed under: Fox Soccer Channel, Interviews, LA GalaxyThis is what delirious looks like. Rogo and I had a 4am call time for yesterday’s North Korea v South Korea World Cup Qualifier that was played in Shanghai because of North Korea’s refusal to allow the South Korean flag into the stadium and their refusal to play the South Korea National Anthem. FIFA had to step in and relocate the game.
After the game Rogo and I headed down to the Home Depot Center and the LA Galaxy practice where Rogo got put through his paces by my former New England Revolution teammate and current Galaxy goalie coach Ian Feuer.
Then it was a little interview with the LA keepers and Josh Wicks for Fox Sports Net West.
For a day Rogo got to re-live his D1 San Diego State days back in the 90’s.
Then it was back to the FSC studios for the Australia at Uzbekistan World Cup Qualifier at 2.30pm.
Saturday….
Filed under: Fox Soccer Channel, LA Galaxy, Real Salt LakeStarted off the day at the FSC studios with my boy Mark Rogondino.
Rogo and I were doing the Iran at Saudi Arabia World Cup Qualifier.
Then made my way down the 405 to the Home Depot Center.
Walking out to the field.
Inside the RSL truck with Ken Neal on the left and Mike Foss on the right.
T-Fitz and John Koluder getting ready to do the radio side of things for RSL.
Backdrop for when Bill Riley and I are on stand up.
Game time.
A Wednesday Afternoon
Filed under: Bumpy Pitch, Fox Soccer Channel, KicksBeans, Ace and I had to make a run today to finish some things up.
Our spot on Ventura.
Grabbed a damn good lunch. Marinated chicken, black beans, rice and corn tortillas……
Saw some dope Adi Swedes - Malmo style.
Then got to the FSC studios around 3.30 to do the Alajuelense at Puerto Rico match with Christian Miles before we found out kickoff got delayed due to horrible weather in Puerto Rico.
Looks at Milesy, reppin the Puma specials.
Game time….. And got home around 10.30pm.
Concacaf Champions League
Filed under: Concacaf Champions League, Cruz Azul, Fox Soccer ChannelJust got done with the Concacaf Champions League first leg between Cruz Azul and Hankook Verdes down at the FSC studios with my boy Jon Herz.
While it’s still only the Preliminaries, Cruz Azul was on fire tonight against a much weaker opponent.
Tomorrow night it’s Puerto Rico Islanders down in Costa Rica against Alajuelense.
A View From A Plane
Filed under: Fox Soccer Channel, Real Madrid, ValenciaAfter a very early wake up call and having to fly east to Charlotte before getting on a flight for LAX, I headed down to the FSC studios for the return leg of the Spanish Super Cup between Valencia and Real Madrid at The Santiago Bernabeu..
What an unbelievable game and by far the best I’ve ever been a part of.
And now I go to sleep.

A Columbus Hotel Room With A View

Filed under: Fox Soccer Channel, Real Salt Lake, San JoseIt’s the 10th week of the 2008 MLS Season and it could possibly be the second most important stage of the year.
This is the time when National Team call-ups and injuries really start depleting rosters, so picking up maximum points (3) right now are extremely important to teams that haven’t necessarily gotten the best results.
How many times have GM’s, Coaches or fans taken a look back at the late spring/early summer matches played and have seen results that they dropped or picked up affect them during the run up to the Play-offs? Every point counts right now.
Tonight is a perfect example of two teams in need of 3 points as San Jose visit Rice Eccles Stadium (the first seat was installed in the new Stadium in Sandy on Friday) and Real Salt Lake for Saturday nights Fox Soccer Channel game of the week.
Frank Yallop’s men will be missing Kei Kamara (Sierra Leone), Ivan Guerrero (Honduras), Ronnie O’Brien (Rest/Knee), Jean Phillipe Peguer (Season Ending IR/Knee) and Gavin Glinton (Sports Hernia) coming off their 2-1 win over the Houston Dynamo last Thursday.
Jason Kreis won’t have Ian Joy (Red Card), Yura Movsisyan (Knee) or Nathan Sturgis (Hamstring) available for selection after RSL’s 2-1 heartbreaking come from behind loss at FC Dallas, a game that was played for 60 minutes with both teams only having 10 men on the field.
Oh, and the picture (while of pretty shitty quality) is of the State Capital on the left and small piece of the Mormon Temple on the right side.
