On Saturday 7th NOV 2009, 21-year-old Saudi striker Nawaf Al Abed scored what papers in the Kingdom are claiming to be the fastest goal ever recorded in a professional football match. The incident took place in the match between Al Hilal and Al Shoalah, which ended 4-nil to the hosts in the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Cup, with the goial officially clocked at two seconds. Straight from the kickoff, Al Abed spotted the Al Shoalah goalkeeper off his line and that was all the invitation needed for the striker to try his luck from the halfway line.
