Coaching Change Costs Tottenham At Least 11.9

Tottenham

Juande Ramos has agreed to a $2.7 Million buyout that was linked to Tottenham’s placement at the bottom of the Barclay’s Premiership two weeks ago.

And with former Assistants Marcos Alvarez and Gus Poyet receiving $4 Million to split between the both of them, throw in the $8 Million in compensation to Portsmouth for Harry Redknapp’s services plus his existing salary and there you have yourself the cool cost of making a coaching change at Spurs.

Joe Jordan Drinking The Redknapp Punch

Joe Jordan

It just isn’t getting any easier for new Portsmouth boss Tony Adams as Assistant Joe Jordan has announced that he is leaving Pompey to join up with Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane.

With Martin Keown already turning down the opportunity to become Adams’ full time Assistant rather than just a part - time scout for Arsenal and now the loss of the 56 year old Scot,  coming just after he announced to the press on Monday that Jordan was staying.

Adams said then: ‘Joe is part of the team, 100 per cent, and I want him here forever. He’s a good ally and he will do the same job as he’s always done. I don’t  think there was ever a question of him going.”

Tottenham Sack Juande Ramos & Co, Hire Harry Redknapp

Filed under: Harry Redknapp, Portsmouth, Tottenham

Juande Ramos

In a surprising twist to the late Saturday evening Premiership world, Tottenham dramatically sacked head coach Juande Ramos, Assistant Gus Poyet and Sporting Director Damien Comolli at 10:30pm while Harry Redknapp resigned from Portsmouth to take over Spurs, starting tomorrow afternoon against Bolton at White Heart Lane.

We were expecting something, but I don’t think any supporter saw Redknapp leaving Fratton Park (in which Portsmouth will receive a considerable amount in compensation in the form of 5 Million Pound and former Arsenal Captain and Assistant Tony Adams taking the helm) while Ramos won just three Premiership games following their lifting of the Carling Cup back in February.

“I couldn’t turn down the chance to manage Spurs” and Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy comes out swinging on Ramos and Comolli’s role in the Keane and Berbatov debacle, game preparations and questionable training methods.

Muntari To Inter To Fund SWP?

Filed under: Harry Redknapp, Peter Crouch, Transfer News

Harry Redknapp

While Harry Redknapp has long been adamant about holding onto Ghanian Sulley Muntari, selling the 23 year old to Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan might be the move necessary to bring in Chelsea’s Shaun Wright-Phillips.

With capturing Jermain Defoe from Tottenham just into the new year and the summer move of Peter Crouch from Liverpool, selling Muntari for 12.7 Million Pound would be a good return on an initial 7.1 Million Pound purchase from Udinese in 2007.

With Nugent and Nigerians Kanu and Utaka already on the books at Portsmouth, selling Muntari is good business IF you can capture Wright-Phillips, long admired by Redknapp.

According to SkySports, former Nigerian International and one time LA Galaxy hopeful Celestine Babayaro is sitting in a Chelsea hospital after contracting Malaria.

The left back was trying to sort out a contract with Harry Redknapp and Portsmouth last week before being overcome after a week of physical testing and training.

After Wayne Bridge signed a new four year deal with Chelsea, Portsmouth’s focus a signing a new left back might continue with Babayaro, if he can get healthy.

I’d Like To Sue the Police Your Honor

UPDATEHarry Redknapp will be rolling around town with 1,000 more Euros today than he had yesterday after the High Court determined that the raid conducted on his home while he was away was “unlawful”.

Good for Harry, but it’s not like he needs the cash.  More about the principality!

Harry Redknapp

If you show up at Harry Redknapp’s home at 6am with the media and rustle his wife out of bed when he’s out of the country, beware. You might just have legal proceedings started against yourself by way of the Administrative Court at the High Courts of Justice in London.

Don’t mess with ol ‘Arry, even if you think he’s taken part in the Bung Scandal or shoddy Transfer Deals.

So there’s this Premiership player that falls asleep

For the last four days everyone in the Barclay’s Premiership has been waiting to hear what the hell went on in the transfer of Portsmouth’s Benjani to Manchester City. The truth behind the mess started with Benjani falling asleep at the airport and then the next flight being canceled and the following delayed. Yeah, this was some crazy shit and actually forced the transfer fee down, but if Benjani hits 75 starts in his Man City tenure, Portsmouth would receive a total of 7.5 million pound.

The hero at Pompey

Filed under: Chelsea, EPL, Harry Redknapp, Portsmouth

After Nicolas Anelka (a fellow transfererer)  slipped in a Joe Cole knock down off a counter attack from a no call hand ball of Claude Makalele,  Fratton Park faithful were rightfully worried.  It would be only 9 minutes later that Jermaine Defoe would start his dream debut, starting with a long ball from keeper David James, flicked on by Milan Baros and coolly slotted in the 64th minute.  While the game ended in a 1-1 result, ol’ Harry was definitely happy with his new look squad after Chelsea’s record was 47 wins in 50 games after taking the lead.
