Two goals in the last five minutes spared Jose Mourinho’s blushes at Dynamo Kiev and reignited Inter Milan’s Champions League campaign. Andrey Shevchenko, a legend at Inter’s city rivals AC Milan, scored the only goal of the first half after 21 minutes and it looked like being enough for a shock win.

Inter piled on the pressure in the second period and it finally paid off as the in-form Diego Milito equalised in the 86th minute and Wesley Sneijder won it one minute from time. Even a draw would have kept the Italians bottom of Group F, but as it was they went top - a point ahead of Rubin Kazan and Barcelona.

Inter Milan moved four points clear at the top of Serie A after winning an eight-goal thriller against Palermo tonight. The game seemed to be all wrapped up when two goals each from Samuel Eto’o and Mario Balotelli gave Inter a 4-0 lead at the interval, but Palermo fought their way back to put the Nerazzurri under pressure.

Fabrizio Miccoli scored twice, and Mathias Hernandez was on target as Palermo threatened to make an amazing comeback. But Diego Milito added a fifth for Inter in the 83rd minute to seal a win which moves them clear of Juventus at the top of the table.

After being substituted by Jose Mourinho last week during Inter’s 2 - 1 win over Udinese and making sure everyone in the stadium knew how unhappy he was about it, Ghana International Sulley Muntari (who already had an issue with The Special One over his Ramadan fasting) is being linked with his former boss Ol’ Harry Redknapp and Tottenham.

French International Patrick Vieira has come out publicly in the press and issued somewhat of a warning that he could leave Inter Milan after the new year if he’s in the same playing time situation he has been as of late.

I was honestly hoping for a more exciting game…point on the road for Barca though.

The Champions League continues today with plenty of big matches taking place, but none are bigger or possibly as interesting as the Inter Milan v Barcelona game. With Eto’o and Zlatan switching sides, plus the fact that both of these teams could win the whole thing this year, this is a very interesting way to kick off the group stages. Add on top of that the news that came out recently that said Jose Mourinho held secret talks with Barcelona about being the Barca manager, but that he wouldn’t agree to their terms of dealing with the media so they went with Pep Guardiola, and this takes on an even more interesting angle.

Holland International Wesley Sneijder looks set to join Serie A Champions Inter Milan after agreeing to a 15 Million Euro deal with Real Madrid even though the La Liga side paid 27 Million Euro for the creative midfielder back in August of 2007.
