milan-fashion-week.jpg

Ok, so its not like I spend my free time surfing the internet looking for guys in mismatch gear to post on the winger, but I had to throw this one up here. I was looking at some fresh styles that were burning up the runways recently in Milan during fashion week and then this pic happened. The caption on this picture reads:

A model wears a creation of Etro men’s Fall-Winter 2009/2010 collection, part of the Milan Fashion Week, unveiled in Milan, Italy, Monday, Jan 19, 2009.

Wait… What? I’m no supermodel, but really!? This cat cannot be be more than 5′6 right? Who cares what he looks like, nh, but damn… I might need to reconsider what I’m doing with my life.

Alberto Gilardino Handed 2 Match Ban

Filed under: Italy, Serie A, Videos

Alberto Gilardino

In a controversial move, Italian Football authorities handed Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino a two match ban for “serious unsporting conduct” after Sunday’s 3 - 1 win over Palermo in which the Italian scored a goal with his right hand that went unseen by the referee during a sliding challenge with a defender.

The Serie A’s top goal scorer with 7 to his name in only 7 matches will now miss Wednesday’s match at home against Inter Milan and Sunday’s match at Siena.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini had called for the Fiorentina forward to be issued with a five-game ban, but Zampirini was even more frustrated with the reaction from Gilardino saying, “He even celebrated, incredible.”

Cohen is in Milan working on a new film called Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male.

Bruno2

Cohen was released without being charged and seemed to charm his way around the Milan Sempione police station.

A police officer said: ‘A British national by the name of Sacha Baron Cohen was brought here and identified. He did not have any id documents on him so someone was sent to his hotel when he got here to fetch his passport.

‘He was actually very funny and the first thing he said was ‘Can I make a phone call’ like they do on TV.’

From Arkansas to Milan, Bruno’s making his way around the world.

Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris

stadio-ferrari-1

As much as I follow soccer, and as much as I like to think I know about it, somehow I was unaware that Sampdoria and Genoa played their home games at the coolest named stadium of all time, Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.  How this has escaped me up to this point, I don’t know. But this new knowledge is leading me on a fact finding mission to see if there was in fact someone named Luigi Ferraris. Check out some more pics of the Luigi Ferrari after the jump.

On HBO OnDemand: “Maradona, The Hand of God”

Filed under: Argentina, Barcelona, Italy, Movies

If you have HBO OnDemand, “Maradona, The Hand of God” is on this month.  Marco Leonardi is very moving as Maradona, in a story about one of the greatest players ever, who came from desperate beginnings but possessed an outrageous talent, and who always struggled with the angels and bitter demons on his shoulder.  Lots of use of real footage.  It gets pretty dark.  Filmed in Buenos Aires and Napoli, with subtitles.  Recomended.
