Hull City last night triumphed 3-1 over Southend United at the KC Stadium, sealing their place in the third round of the League Cup, with 19-year-old American striker Jozy Altidore marking his first start for the Tigers with his first goal for the club.

The forward is on a season-long loan from Spanish outfit Villarreal, and his manager Phil Brown is looking forward to him finding the net on more occasions for City over the course of the coming campaign. (more…)

US Strikers Altidore and Cooper Attack Europe

Jozy Altidore scored for Hull in the 42nd minute this afternoon with a long range shot to the lower left corner to help lead Hull to a 3-1 win over Southend in only his second match with the team.

Kenny Cooper scored in the 17th minute with an 18 yard shot into the lower left corner in TSV 1860 Munich’s 3-1 defeat.

Only a few days after being unveiled to the English Press as a member of Hull City, the final paperwork has been secured as US International Jozy Altidore has been granted his English Work Permit after a hearing in London.
