“Lost in the World” by Kanye West is from his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy released in 2010 featuring vocals by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. This videoo kind of comes out of nowhere given the fact that MBDTF came out over 18 months ago, Ye has recorded, sold, and toured on an entirely different album with his mentor Jay Z. Filmmaker Ruth Hogben collaborates with award-winning musician Kanye West to create a film for his single Lost in the World. The song, which features Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, is taken from West’s fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Hogben’s piece breaks the mould of popular rap aesthetics while still celebrating the extraordinary talent that has made West a modern icon.

In honor of Coachella this weekend here in So Cal, I think it is time to look back at one of the greatest performances that California desert and festival has ever seen. Last year Kanye West performed for over an hour and a half as the headline performer, in a performance that set the interwebs on fire. I remember it being Sunday Night and someone shooting me a text message that it was being streamed live on youtube. From that moment on, and it was late at night, I don’t think I moved from in front of my computer screen. I search youtube and found a full video of the performance. Hit the jump to check it out….

So, we have been hearing about the G.O.O.D. Music compilation for months now, and its hiiiiighly anticipated. It must be summertime because on back to back night, we have been blessed with what we assume are two tracks from the album. Lat night, it was Theraflu, which was a monster. Like, I still haven’t written anything other than wow in the post. Tonight Ye brings in some of the roster to give us some bars and they all stepped up to the plate. I was just having the conversation the other day about the G.O.O.D. Music Fridays and how dope they were and that we needed some new music… Kanye is here to help. Let’s. Go.

Nike has launched a new marketing campaign for Kobe Bryant’s new sneakers, the Kobe System. In the ad we see Kobe step away from his role as basketball player and into the role of motivational speaker. But it’s not just anybody that Kboe is trying to motivate to find even more success, it’s a pretty crazy cast of some very famous people. Some of the featured folks Kobe is trying to inspire to even more greatness include:

In Nike Basketball’s newest campaign, Kobe Bryant steps beyond his role as a basketball superstar and into the role of a motivational speaker. The KobeSystem campaign’s overarching mantra of ‘Attack Fast, Attack Strong’ was built upon Kobe’s new footwear, the Nike Kobe VII System Supreme.  The Nike Kobe VII System Supreme is a performance footwear system allowing players to adapt to succeed by customizing the shoe, switching ankle support and midfoot cushioning.  The Nike Kobe VII System Supreme edition includes two interchangeable insert options allowing players to switch out the cushioning and ankle support to match their style of play. The Attack Fast insert features a Phylon midsole with Nike Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for lightweight responsiveness, while the Attack Strong insert offers a full-length Cushlon midsole and an ankle cuff for a plush, comfortable ride with great support. Kobe debuted the new shoe on Christmas day and will wear it throughout the season, adapting to his needs.

The #KobeSystem hash tag will be tied to the campaign.

Shot in Hollywood, the Nike KobeSystem “Success for the Successful” commercial spot was directed by Jody Hill.  Known for his role as co-creator and executive producer of the series Eastbound & Down, Hill has directed, produced and acted in a variety of features films.  The campaign was produced by Wieden + Kennedy of Portland, Ore.

“Champion” is a song by Kanye West, the second track from his third studio album, Graduation, and is based around a sample from “Kid Charlemagne” by Steely Dan. On September 29, 2007, it managed to enter charts despite not being released as a single, debuting a number ninety-four on the Billboard Pop 100.
