Dunny asked a great question the other day, when he posted these dudes working on RSL and LAG logos for the Space Needle…something like, “what kind of hazard pay do you get for putting big a$$ stickers on a building a couple of thousand feet in the air?” I’m really curious actually, so if you are one of the dudes who did this, the Designated Players will be at Kell’s tomorrow night at 9p, come tell us about it. LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan has been named the 2009 Volkswagen MLS MVP for the first time in his career. Widely considered as the best American player ever, Donovan added to his 2009 awards after being named to the MLS Best XI and the winner of the 2009 AT&T Goal of the Year.

Donovan received the most votes in polling of MLS players, general managers, coaches and members of the media. FC Dallas forward Jeff Cunningham and New England Revolution midfielder Shalrie Joseph were the two other finalists for the award. (more…)

Los Angeles Galaxy President of Business Operations Tom Payne has issued an official statement regarding the cancellation of the teams post season tour of Germany.

Only a few days away… And I’m wondering what the pay scale is for these artist putting down the Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy logos on the Seattle Space Needle ahead of the 2009 MLS Cup Final.

The players reactions to the lights going out and their upcoming trip to the MLS Cup Finals in Seattle this Sunday.

Friday night at the Home Depot Center was definitely one of the most interesting soccer games I have been to. As you all know, there were two blackouts that caused serious delays for the game. Its’ not something you see a whole lot in professional sports, although I heard some people in the stadium talking about how it happens at baseball games sometimes. I will tell you this, we saw quite a few people in suits running around frantically in the dark.

All in all it was a great night for soccer. The conditions were perfect, the crowd was festive and we were able to catch up with a lot of friends as well as be present for a memorable night in MLS history.

Gregg Berhalter and Landon Donovan scored in overtime to put the Galaxy into MLS Cup final with a 2-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Friday night.

The Galaxy will play in their first MLS Cup final since 2005 in Seattle on Nov. 22 against the winner of Saturday’s Eastern Conference final match between Chicago and Real Salt Lake.Los Angeles will make its sixth MLS Cup final appearance since the league began in 1996. The Galaxy won the MLS championships in 2002 and 2005.
