Ghana Under-17 sensation Daniel Opare has signed with Spanish Giants Real Madrid, leaving Ghanian side Oshanti Gold. After seeing him in action, you gotta think it won’t be too long before we see him making his debut with the likes of Ramos and Cannavaro.

Remember when Julio Baptista was just an after thought?  The Brazilian had been bought from Sevilla, size and strength included with the Samba touch, only to be loaned to Arsenal’s Reserves.  Now back at Real Madrid and under new coach Bernd Schuster, Baptista has found new glory sitting underneath Ruud and Raul.  Scoring the winner against Barcelona was great, but there’s more to this man than meets the eye.

After finishing a career as an attacking midfielder with Atletico Bilbao, Ander Garitano joined up with Real Zaragoza’s youth academy in 2002 and was last week named head coach after the firing of Victor Fernandez.  Well, that didn’t last long as Garitano has resigned due to “oh shit, what I done?”  The official statement was along the lines of “I’m not 100% committed.”

If you want to watch for a player who could be on the move soon, watch Cameroonian and Espanyol keeper Carlos Kameni during the African Nations Cup.  With Casillas at Madrid and Valdes at Barcelona, Kameni has quietly kept under the radar for awhile, but not much longer.

Hey, what was that for?

There’s always a lot of things that happen in locker rooms throughout the world.  We’d say about 75% of it never sees the light of day, unless there’s evidence, like say STITCHES.  Dudu (hahaha) Aouate got knocked the Uck out after popping off to the media about getting dropped as number one choice keeper.  After getting out of the shower, back up and newly appointed starter for Deportivo, Gustavo Manua decided Dudu should pay the good ol fashion way.  Now both are out for the next match at Villareal.

Que Paso Barcelona?

FC Barecelona

I really want to know what’s going on with Barcelona. Unarguably the most talented team on the planet, but yet they look like they don’t care half the time, they drop way more points than they should, and there are mad rumors coming out that players like Ronaldinho, Deco, Iniesta and Zambrotta could be on their way out.  After the disappointment that the “Galacticos” experienced in Madrid, maybe forming a team that consists almost entirely of world class super stars is just not the way to go.  It works for me on FIFA 08, but it doesn’t seem to work in the real world.
