SunSport can reveal Real president Florentino Perez will launch an audacious £30million bid for the Liverpool skipper. A top Madrid source said: “It’s no secret Gerrard is a player Perez and technical director Jorge Valdano admire.

Wow! Four losses in a row for Liverpool and Steven Gerrard limps off after 24 minutes. Things are not looking good for the Reds right now. You have to start asking how patient they stay with Rafa.

Liverpool will have Steven Gerrard back in their ranks for Tuesday night’s Champions League showdown with Lyon after he trained on Monday morning, but Fernando Torres misses out again. The Reds’ skipper, along with striker Torres, was forced to sit out Saturday’s defeat at Sunderland with a groin injury but has returned to the squad to face the French outfit. (more…)

Can’t get any more controversial than this.  The only goal of the game, a blow up beach ball rolling across Pepe Reina’s goal and the referee allowing it to stand when the rules state it should be a drop ball.
Very interested to see what people say about this one.

Liverpool co-owner George Gillett is to travel to Saudi Arabia to discuss the sale of his 50% stake in the Anfield club to Saudi investor Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdullah al-Saud. Prince Faisal’s investment firm, F6 Sports, signed an agreement with Gillett last month, which the company claims gives them an exclusive option to invest in the Premier League outfit. And Liverpool’s American co-owner will fly to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to negotiate a fee. (more…)

Second half goals from Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda gave Chelsea a deserved victory over Liverpool and put them two points clear at top of the Barclays Premier League. The France international struck first in the 60th minute when he finished off a sublime low cross from Didier Drogba as Chelsea defied their critics with a performance of grit and quality.
