John Terry to Man City Intensifies

Filed under: Chelsea, John Terry, Manchester City, Mark Hughes, Transfer News

So the John Terry to Manchester City saga continues.  After keeping quiet up to this point about the whole thing, Man City bossman, Mark Hughes, has let his feelings be known about the whole situation.

“We would like to think we could offer John a different challenge,” Hughes said. “He’s been at Chelsea a long time and I know from my own experience as a player that when you have been with a club for a long time you get to a point when you think you need a new challenge and that a change of scenery would re-ignite certain things within you.

“It is not a question of finance, or money, it is about a different challenge, and John being at a different stage in his life and his career, and maybe that is why there hasn’t been a response [to commit himself to Chelsea] because John is seriously thinking in those terms. I went through that process myself as a player and I can understand if that is the way he is thinking.”

Mark Hughes trying to appeal to the “challenge for a player” side of John Hughes? Does this sort of thing have any sway on how JT, aka “Mr. Chelsea,” goes about making his decision to stay or go?

Let the big money summer of 2009 continue. According to the Guardian, Emmanuel Adebayor may be heading north to the rich ground of Manchester City to join up with the likes of Carlos Teves and Robinho. Looks like City is ready to splash out  £20m for the Arsenal striker and make him the 9th striker they have on the roster. A reported £150,000 a week should help make his decision a little bit easier.

Carlos Tevez to Man City for £47.5m

Filed under: Manchester City, Manchester United, Transfer News

carlos-tevez

Apparently the global recession continues to hurt European soccer clubs…According to The Mirror, Carlos Tevez will be heading across Manchester and joining Man City for a fee believed to be £47.5 million! Seriously! This will further deplete the options United have up front, but it will add nicely to the City attack. Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Robinho…hmmm. What moves is Ferguson about to make? He needs to make some big moves this summer…
