2009 MLS Cup’d Space Needle ***Updated***

Dunny asked a great question the other day, when he posted these dudes working on RSL and LAG logos for the Space Needle…something like, “what kind of hazard pay do you get for putting big a$$ stickers on a building a couple of thousand feet in the air?” I’m really curious actually, so if you are one of the dudes who did this, the Designated Players will be at Kell’s tomorrow night at 9p, come tell us about it. Great job guys, it looks good!

Landon Donovan Wins the 2009 Volkswagen MLS MVP

LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan has been named the 2009 Volkswagen MLS MVP for the first time in his career. Widely considered as the best American player ever, Donovan added to his 2009 awards after being named to the MLS Best XI and the winner of the 2009 AT&T Goal of the Year.

Donovan received the most votes in polling of MLS players, general managers, coaches and members of the media. FC Dallas forward Jeff Cunningham and New England Revolution midfielder Shalrie Joseph were the two other finalists for the award. (more…)

Defenders: Geoff Cameron (Houston Dynamo), Wilman Conde (Chicago Fire), Chad Marshall (Columbus Crew)
Midfielders: Dwayne De Rosario (Toronto FC), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Stuart Holden (Houston Dynamo), Shalrie Joseph (New England Revolution), Freddie Ljungberg (Seattle Sounders FC)
Forwards: Conor Casey (Colorado Rapids), Jeff Cunningham (FC Dallas)

Every year before the MLS Cup, Commissioner Don Garber talks about the state of the league and answers a few questions from reporters.

During his address, Garber called Sounders FC, who led the league in attendance and became the first expansion team to advance to the MLS Cup Playoffs since the Chicago Fire in 1998, “arguably one of the best expansion launches in all of pro sports.”

Only a few days away… And I’m wondering what the pay scale is for these artist putting down the Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy logos on the Seattle Space Needle ahead of the 2009 MLS Cup Final.

L.A. 2-0 Houston, Galaxy Wins in OT

Gregg Berhalter and Landon Donovan scored in overtime to put the Galaxy into MLS Cup final with a 2-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Friday night.

The Galaxy will play in their first MLS Cup final since 2005 in Seattle on Nov. 22 against the winner of Saturday’s Eastern Conference final match between Chicago and Real Salt Lake.Los Angeles will make its sixth MLS Cup final appearance since the league began in 1996. The Galaxy won the MLS championships in 2002 and 2005.
