FOX Soccer today announced that it has reached a multi-year, multi-platform agreement to televise the World Soccer Masters, featuring many of the top players from around the globe. The inaugural match is set for Miami’s Sun Life Stadium on June 23 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The match features superstars such as Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, recent UEFA Champions League winner Didier Drogba, U.S. National Team forward Clint Dempsey, Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, Inter Milan’s Diego Forlan and FIFA World Cup winners Marco Materazzi and Alessandro Nesta. Thirty-five other world-class players from across Europe and South America are set to play in the match.

“Soccer fans in the U.S. are some of the most knowledgeable and passionate supporters anywhere, and with the World Soccer Masters we have brought the best names in the game together to create a unique soccer experience,” said Joshua Glassel, Vice President of Programming and Acquisitions for FOX Soccer. “The World Soccer Masters match features the sport’s current greats, many of whom are in their prime and are competing against one another at the international and club levels.”

Other notable players include U.S. Men’s National Team regulars Jozy Altidore and Carlos Bocanegra, as well as European club soccer stars Falcao (Athletico Madrid), Diego Milito (Inter Milan) and Javier Mascherano (Barcelona). The agreement also provides a half-hour preview show leading-up to kickoff and post-match coverage.

The Chicago Fire drop their second ad of the day. This time featuring goalkeeper Sean Johnson, but sticking with the grocery store theme. With Dominic Oduro it was all about speed, and with Sean Johnson we see him making sure nothing gets by him while doing his rounds in the market. Both ads are for NBC5.
