Southampton Set For League One After 10 Point Deduction

After being more than adamant that their parent company’s placement into administration wouldn’t affect the club, the Football League has officially docked the 23rd place Championship club 10 points for breaching “Insolvency Regulations”, effectively relegating the club to League One next season.

The All Party Parliamentary Football Group has produced 27 recommendations following a year long investigation concerning the recent splurge of top English clubs using “ludicrous levels of borrowing”, then backsiding the profits to pay off a majority of the large debts incurred.

Valencia Secures 50 Million Euros To Pay Salaries

With the recent financial situation it’s found itself in within the last couple of months and being told initially it needed to find 75 Million Euros by June, Spanish side Valencia took the first step in getting the club back on track and paying player salaries after agreeing to a 50 Million Euro loan ($67 Million) from local business group Fomento Urbano de Castellon.

Southampton’s Parent Company Placed In Administration

Southampton

Southampton FC has released an official statement confirming that parent company Southampton Leisure Holdings Plc was put into administration after it was no longer able to pay it’s debts. That being said, the Saints higher ups are very adamant that the club is safe, unaffected and will not face a 10 point penalty from the Football League as the club itself is not in Administration although they ARE on the lookout for a buyer as soon as possible.

After acknowledging last Friday to pay upwards of 15 Million Pound to Sheffield United for the controversy over the registration of Carlos Tevez back in the 2006 / 07 Premiership campaign, West Ham United and Sheffield United have announced a 25 Million Pound out of court settlement before today’s scheduled ruling from Lord Griffiths and his Independent Tribunal.

15+ Million Pound Heading Sheffield United’s Way

West Ham have agreed to pay 15+ Million Pound to Sheffield United, bypassing the initial 45 Million Pound Compesation Claim they wanted after it was acknowledged that Carlos Tevez influenced their 2006 / 07 Premiership Relegation after the Argentina International scored the winner against Manchester United on the last day of the season, as his signing was in breach of the Premiership’s third party ownership rules.
