New York Red Bull At DC United

Not too often do you see Jaime Moreno miss a penalty, but United keeps the 2008 version of the Atlantic Cup with the draw.

DC United At NY Red Bull Highlights

Filed under: DC United, Highlights, New York Red Bull

After the start of this game, I’m not sure anyone thought it would end up with this scoreline.

And how F-ing good is Juan Pablo Angel.  Hands down first choice for me if I was choosing a starting 11.

I thought for sure Moreno was going to deck Pietravello.

Barcelona At NY Red Bulls - International Friendly

FC Barcelona Wings

Beans, Ace and I just sat down for the start of tonights Barcelona @ NY Red Bulls friendly at Giants Stadium.

So far the MLS boys are holding strong defensively, but like most of the matches that see high profile Euro teams coming over this way, NY is having trouble keeping possession going forward.

When your teams leading scorer is you Left-Back (van den Bergh with 5 Goals) and you’ve just lost the 2nd best talent on the team in the form of Jozy Altidore, you might want to start tapping into the International market instead of looking for D-mids and Defenders.

And doesn’t Rojas remind anyone else of The Bruce?

Thierry Henry Please Join MLS

Filed under: MLS, New York Red Bull, Thierry Henry

thierry-henry-mls

I want to start this off by saying no one has told me that Henry is coming to MLS or anything like that. Instead, this is more of a “what if” type thing. With Henry in New York with Barcelona for a friendly against Red Bull New York, I can’t help myself  imagining Henry in MLS one day. Everyone knows Henry is a huge fan of New York, and I have to guess that the folks over at Red Bull feel the same towards Henry.  This has got to be the perfect fit.

With the success that Beckham has been for the league so far, bringing in Henry and planting him in New York would have at least the same effect (imagine the fear he would strike in every defense in the league). A world class star in the two biggest markets in the country would be huge. A big LA v NY rivalry would be great for the league and the sport. I got my fingers crossed that this one will happen sooner rather than later. After the jump, check out one of my all time Thierry Henry videos.

All The Harry Kewell Rumors You Can Handle

Filed under: Juventus, New York Red Bull, Newcastle, Rumors

There’s never really been any doubt whether a “healthy” Harry Kewell can play at the highest level or not. The ONLY question is can he stay “healthy”?

Now word is starting to link him with Glasgow Celtic, Juventus, Newcastle and even the New York Red Bulls after injuries have limited his appearances with Liverpool over the last four years since his transfer from Leeds (remember when they used to be good?).
