The voice of pretty much every movie trailer we’ve ever seen has passed away at the age of 68 on Monday.
Don LaFontaine, who’s voice over work covered 60 promotions per week, 750,000 television spots and over 5,000 movie previews entered Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on August 22nd with a collapsed lung due to a blood clot.
LaFontaine had been employed by NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and UPN, in addition to TNT, TBS and the Cartoon Network, all while able to cut at his own home.

Isaac Hayes has passed away today at the age of 65 at his home in Tennessee.
The man best known for Shaft (in which he was the first African-American honored with an Academy Award in a non-acting category) and Chef from South Park (from 1997 - 2006 before leaving the show after a dispute over Scientology) was found by his wife on the floor next to his still running treadmill.
Sad news with reports that Bernie Mac died early this morning at only 50 years old. Apparently the cause is complications from pneumonia.
Thanks to the many who have shown their love and support for my sister in-law Juel Sears through her battle with Breast Cancer.
Yesterday at 9am at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Juel passed with her family at her side after a year and a half battle with Cancer that had started in her breast, but had made her way into her Spinal Fluid, Liver, Lymph Nodes and Sacrum.
She was never one to complain or sit back and feel sorry for herself, and it showed during her first bout with Chemo that instead of losing her hair, she decided to rock the mohawk (while her husband Garrett shaved his head in show of support). This was Juel.
She was a unifier and someone that could always put a smile on your face as can be seen by the amount to true friends she had.
The man who’s guitar crossed color barriers with his homemade guitar has passed at the age of 79.
I’ll never forget staying in a Glasgow Hotel back in 1997, the fire alarm going off, heading downstairs to the streets at 4 am and seeing Bo Diddley standing next to me. The nicest guy you could have ever met.
“If you ain’t got no money, you ain’t got no honey” is the line I’ll never forget from Bo.
