Robinho’s First Interview as a Man City Player

UPDATE - Remember when Real Madrid claimed that Robinho had injured his groin and would not be made available for Dunga and his Brazilian Olympic selection?

Interesting little article this morning on SkySports about Robinho’s move to Man City, what happened with the Chelsea breakdown and his meeting with Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon where he broke down crying after being told he wouldn’t be allowed to go to Beijing.

I cried when he (Calderon) didn’t let me play at the Olympics and you can check that by asking him,” added Robinho.

Sparky Gets Robinho

Robinho

Manchester City has confirmed the capture of want-away Brazilian Robinho after Real Madrid accepted the highest British Transfer Fee on record at 32.5 Million Pound.

The 24 year old has signed a four year deal and just yesterday called together a press conference to cement his decision on leaving Real Madrid for the bright lights of Chelsea. Guess that just flew out the window.

“I am absolutely delighted to get the opportunity to work with such an incredible talent like Robinho,” Hughes told the club’s official website. “I have said that in order to compete with the best teams in the Premier League we have to be in the market for players of this calibre, and Robinho is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world.

“I am really looking forward to introducing him to the rest of the squad, and to the City fans at the earliest opportunity. This is a real statement of intent as to the ambitions of Manchester City Football Club.”

Just a couple of weeks ago Manchester City was facing the horror of an owner who’s future really doesn’t look that bright, to the capture of Shaun Wright-Phillips, Jo, Robinho and a possibly buyout by Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) that is already in it’s due diligence stage, City might just have the backing to become the newest Chelsea.

And how’s Abramovich going to handle not only losing out on Robinho to City after the player came out publicly with his desire to join the club less than 24 hours earlier, but being outbid as well. Looks like this type of money might just outweigh and / or compete with the Russian Billionaire tactics.

Transfer Day Deadline

Sky Sports is reporting that Dimitar Berbatov is in Manchester, that he has undergone his medical and that he is  meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson. They are also saying that man City has put in a £32.5million bid to pry Robinho away from Real Madrid. This would be quite a coup for Mark Hughes and City. There is about an hour left before the deadline closes so look for the clubs involved to try and get these deals wrapped up very quickly.

Deadline

Oh, the drama…..

With all the talk about Robinho and a possible move to Chelsea, according to Peter Kenyon the deal would have to be done before 5pm on Thursday if the Brazilian is to be available at the weekend against Spurs.

Has the 24 year old agreed to a 5 year deal after Real Madrid rumored acceptance of 26 Million Pound?

Was Peter Kenyon in Madrid last weekend?

Peter Kenyon In Madrid?

Robinho

With the saga that is Robinho to Chelsea seemingly over just last week before Real Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup first round leg at Valencia, now word is trickling down that Chelsea’s Chief Executive was spotted in Madrid.

Now if this is true, Robinho could be on his way to London ASAP as Kenyon would most likely be sent down by the board to tie things up and put a close to the 25 Million Pound deal.

And let’s be honest, Robinho looked uninterested in last weekend’s loss at Valencia.

Wonder now if Chelsea will let Andrei Shevchenko finalize his loan deal to AC Milan once Robinho’s deal gets finished.

Chelsea Make Official Offer For Robinho

Filed under: Chelsea, Real Madrid, Robinho

robinho-chelsea

Chelsea have confirmed that they have made an official offer to Real Madrid for their thumb sucking Brazilian, also known as Robinho. The Blues made the announcement on their website and the offer is believed to be in the £20million range.  The thought of him flying up and down the field has got to be a scary thought for the rest of the Premiership.

Robinho In Chelsea Link?

Robinho

We all knew that when Luiz Felipe Scolari took over at Chelsea there would be changes.

With all the hoopla surrounding the possible Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid transfer, Robinho’s agent Vagner Ribiero has publicly admitted to meeting with Chelsea’s Sporting Director Frank Arnesen in London about their desire to sign the player if possible.

Obviously the Brazilian isn’t happy about his name being thrown around in a possible switch to Manchester United if the Ronaldo deal does go down, but with a player like Joe Cole already succeeding with the Blues and Robinho falling into that style, then a Brazilian coaching the Brazilian would make sense at Stamford Bridge.

Wenger tried to pinch Robinho according to agent

I can’t figure out why Robinho’s agent would go to the press with this story right now with everything seemingly going in the wrong direction for Real Madrid, but Wagner Ribiero has spoke publicly of Arsene Wenger’s attempt to lure Robinho to Arsenal last year when he was stuck on the woodshed under Fabio Capello.

In a interview with EFE Radio, Ribiero told of speaking with Pedrag Mijatovic (former Real great and current Sporting Director) about Wenger’s interest in the former Santos player and was told that without a shadow of a doubt, Robinho will be Madrid’s best player in the future and he won’t be going anywhere.

Decent vote of confidence.
