Keystone Sports gets designs for Chester Stadium

Filed under: Expansion Team, Philadelphia, Stadiums

Keystone Sports and Entertainment LLC, the ownership group for the Major League Soccer Philadelphia expansion team, received the initial stadium designs from Rossetti Architects.

The multipurpose stadium will be home to the MLS Philadelphia team making its debut in 2010, an expansion team for the Women’s Professional Soccer league team set to begin play that same year, and other sporting events and concerts.

…Looks like the original wrap around roof design has been downsized. The stage area is a bit obscured in this picture as well. At least there isn’t any FieldTurf.

TFC Supporters Have Their Say About Their Stadium

Filed under: Stadiums, Supporters, Toronto FC, Videos

The Red Patch Boys have got this right, bottom line. If there was ever a group that has consistently shown up, represented and earned the respect of every fan in this league, it’s Toronto FC supporters.

I’m a big fan of what you guys are doing and I truly hope that BMO Field stays soccer specific.

An Inside Look At The New RSL Stadium

Filed under: Pictures, Real Salt Lake, Stadiums

RSLBoz has put together a pretty amazing package of shots from in and around the new Stadium in Salt Lake City (ok, ok Sandy).

Real Salt Lake Stadium

It’s amazing how quickly this stadium has been put together. Not too long ago I was lucky enough to put my John Hancock on the very last piece of steel that was put up during the “Topping Off Ceremony”.

“A professional soccer stadium could be coming to Somerville to jumpstart commercial development in a long-underutilized business district. Last week city officials announced a study, funded by Herb Chambers and the Kraft Group, “designed to help the City promote economic development in both neighborhoods” of Inner Belt and Brickbottom according to the June 23 release….”

One less FieldTurf stadium…? One can only hope.

Wolff might have just got the new Earthquake Stadium done

Filed under: Lew Wolff, San Jose, Stadiums

Lew Wolff

Looks like the San Jose Airport might have just gotten a new neighbor in 2010 as Earthquake Owner Lew Wolff used his Real Estate experience to broker a deal that would build a stadium and include retail, office and hotel projects for the small price of $132 million.

While it might take awhile to get the team back to where it was, Lew’s doing a great job to solidify it’s roots to the Bay Area, where it belongs.

Holding around 71,000 people and costing a cool 60 million Euro (estimated at start up), Liverpool’s new stadium in Stanley Park was given the go ahead with Tom Hicks and George Gillette’s re-financing plan of 325 million Euro done and dusted.
