A wrecking crew has begun the work of tearing down Giants Stadium. The three decades-old venue once home to the Giants and Jets and Cosmos and Red Bulls and that also played host to hundreds of concerts and other events throughout the years will soon be little more than a heap of crushed concrete and scrap metal.

There is new hope for Houston Dynamo soccer fans who've been waiting for years now for a brand new stadium. While plans have stalled for a proposed stadium near downtown, there's new talk about possibly building a stadium in the Galleria area near the Southwest Freeway and the West Loop. With approvals complete, the Wizards President Robb Heineman does the honors, as the Wizards break ground on their soccer-specific stadium in Kansas City, KS.

Regular readers may remember us recently visiting the proposed Houston Dynamo Stadium site.  This past Saturday, Dynamo fans held the first of three rallies to support construction of a new facility.  The next rally is scheduled for February 20th. (more...)

Eighteen cities have been selected as the official host cities for the United States' Bid for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup. Each city could see World Cup matches in their venues if the US is awarded the honor of hosting the world's largest sporting event.

Houston Dynamo fans plan a pro-stadium rally at the location of the proposed project on Saturday January 16th at 1pm.  (more...)
