Chivas USA v LA Galaxy - SuperClasico Preview

Filed under: Chivas USA, LA Galaxy, Super Clasico

Everyone knows that when there’s a coaching change, usually teams come out just a bit sharper.

We’ll see what happens Thursday night at the Home Depot Center.

Damn Good SuperClasico

LA Galaxy vs Chivas USA

Just got back from a damn good SuperClasico down at the Home Depot center that ended a 1-1 draw.

LA Galaxy vs Chivas USA2

Ended up catching up with all the guys from ESPN (Michael Cohen, Shaw Brown, JP Dellacamera and John Harkes) before kickoff, saw Braeden Cloutier (who I played with in New England), sat in Richard Motzkin’s box with Mark Lisi and Eric Solomon from WMG, met Lauren Holly at halftime, walked by Tom Cruise getting crushed for pictures / autographs after the game, ran into injured US Women’s National teamer Leslie Osborne (who, for the first time was walking without crutches), bantered with my FSC partner in crime Mark Rogondino upstairs and caught up with Cobi Jones up at the bar.

Pretty impressive to see a sellout with fans up on the hill and rowdy in the stands as a few of the Chivas USA supporters got thrown out around the 75th minute after fireworks started going off.

Super Clasico Take 2

Filed under: Chivas USA, LA Galaxy, Super Clasico, SuperLiga

UPDATE -  Paul Bravo and Ruud speaking about their new signing Eduardo Dominguez.

After a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of the LA Galaxy last time they played, Chivas USA will be out for blood as once again they are the visiting team for tomorrow night’s ESPN2 match at 7.30pm (West Coast).

With both teams sitting atop of the Western Conference with identical records (LA with 31 GF, 31 GA - Chivas USA with 21 GF, 20 GA), Sacha Kljestan said it right when talking about how important it will be to get three points tomorrow night, knowing fully well that they’ll be out of MLS action for two weeks.

Chivas USA will face Pachuca on July 13th and Santos on the 16th in the 2008 SuperLiga.
