It’s always interesting to see the reaction of the home fans once a former player hits the field for the first time upon their return. And judging by the reaction that Carlos Tevez received at Old Trafford this past weekend, feelings were definitely hurt on both sides.
The question that hasn’t been asked yet is if the fans would have be more gracious had he not signed for a club that’s spent the money to now rival his former club Manchester United.
From the celebration in front of the traveling Arsenal supporters, to the RVP “Stomp”, to the English FA “Taking a good Look” at what transpired, to the Greater Manchester Police placing the crowd trouble on the player’s celebration, Emmanuel Adebayor’s availability for the Manchester Derby against Manchester United on Sunday isn’t looking so good.
Incredible that over 200 die hards would show up geared out, waiting to show love at 4am.

Check out the police presence in the plaza outside the stadium after the jump.
“Shortly after River Plate capitalised on a hideous goalkeeping error, a knife-wielding fan ran onto the pitch and attacked River’s Henry Gimenez. Thankfully, the moronic supporter was subdued before he could get “stabby”, but the referee had no option but to abandon the game. Fans weren’t particularly happy with this decision, and proceeded to pelt the pitch with missiles and flares.”
