New Mexico # 15 Elizabeth Lambert

New Mexico women’s soccer defender Elizabeth Lambert has been suspended indefinitely after engaging in rough play — including hauling an opposing player to the ground by her pony tail — in the Lobos’ 1-0 loss to BYU in the Mountain West Conference semifinals. Lambert is prohibited from taking part in practices, games and conditioning, coach Kit Vela announced Friday.

“Liz is a quality student-athlete, but in this instance her actions clearly crossed the line of fair play and good sportsmanship,” Vela said.

Chelsea Looking To Postpone Tranfer Ban

With FIFA ruling that Chelsea has to sit on the Transfer sidelines until January 2011 after being found guilty of inducing French teenager Gael Kakuta to break his contract with Lens, reports coming out of Europe has the Premiership club approaching the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) about a possible postponement.

Looks like Fabio Cannavaro’s positive drug test excuse is valid after the lead Italian Olympic Committee’s (CONI) anti-doping prosecutor has officially recommended the 36 year old Juventus defender should not be on the receiving end of a suspension.

Wherever you do watch tonight’s United States at Honduras World Cup Qualifying Match, one thing you’ll want to keep an eye on are the players entering the match with Yellow Card Warnings.

Just one yellow to any of the following players and they’ll be suspended for Wednesday’s match against Costa Rica in D.C.

Warnings - Jozy Altidore, Carlos Bocanegra, Conor Casey, Steve Cherundolo, Rico Clark, Landon Donovan, Benny Feilhaber and Frankie Hejduk.

Swiss Referee Massimo Busacca Suspended For 3 Matches Over Middle Finger

Swiss born Massimo Busacca has been handed an immediate three match ban after the FIFA accredited Referee (who is set for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa) was caught on camera giving the finger to supporters during a match between FC Baden and Young Boys.

Fletcher, Abidal and Alves Suspensions Confirmed

UEFA’s Control and Disciplinary Body today confirmed that Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher’s Red Card appeal has been denied, along with Barcelona’s Eric Abidal and Dani Alves both set to miss the Champions League Final after the denial of an appeal following the duo’s receiving of a straight red and second yellow respectively during the result at Stamford Bridge.
