Filed under: Cool Ish, Culture, Music, Social Issues, Technology

Ok, so there is this movie coming out soon, called Fix, by Tao Ruspoli that I am eagerly anticipating and I got a facebook update about a lil contest they are doing. Basically its: come up with a video that describes your Fix, submit it, and maybe you win some cool stuff.

Dope contest and I love the submission by this girl… I have a feeling this youtube will be getting some serious run in the next couple of weeks. Can you imagine she did this by herself… she looks like she is 12 years old!!

Sabotaging The System - 60 Minutes

Could hackers get into the computer systems that run crucial elements of the world’s infrastructure, such as the power grids, water works or even a nation’s military arsenal? Steve Kroft reports.

I can’t front… this has me a little worried and I’ve been saying things like this can happen for years now (I’m talking to you Gemma…remember my ‘master servers in Florida’ rant?) and I don’t know if this is something we want to report on a prime time news show, but hey who am I… just some jagoff writing for a website…fun times, I will now go load up on arms

Cincinnati Bengals receiver, Chad Ochocinco, is planning to form his own social news network on Twitter, using his player contacts around the league to develop news about other teams. The idea grew out of his partnership with Motorola, which will provide the technology. He’s dubbed the venture OCNN, for the Ochocinco News Network. He will try to compete with mainstream media to tell fans what’s going on with NFL teams.

He’s even got a slogan.

“If I break it, you might as well believe it,” Ochocinco told The Associated Press in a phone interview. (more…)

PUMA x Sagem Wireless

I’ve mentioned a couple times how much “soccer related” products we are going to start seeing as the World Cup draws near. The closer it gets, the more we will be seeing. With that in mind, PUMA has entered the wireless game and by entering into a partnership with Sagem Wireless.

PUMA and Sagem Wireless have signed a license agreement to launch a PUMA mobile phone in the second quarter of 2010 prior to the Football World Cup 2010. The license agreement is in line with PUMA’s strategy to move into new categories that complement PUMA’s range of sport and lifestyle footwear, apparel and accessories. In partnership with Sagem Wireless, PUMA’s entry into mobile leverages its innovative brand and design skill to improve mobile user experience and connect its community.

Kind of a risky move if you ask me, but then again, I’m a supporter of folks taking chances. So good luck PUMA.
