Third Stop On Puma’s Road To Tottenham 2010 - Charlotte, N.C.

Hopped on a flight Saturday afternoon and headed east for the third stop (after previous qualifiers in San Diego and Brooklyn) on Puma’s Road To Tottenham 2010, this one being in Charlotte where the top two finalists in the U-15 boys group would head to the USA Cup in Blaine, Minnesota next July for the final six.

The winner of that tournament will earn an all expenses paid trip (18 players / 2 coaches) to White Hart Lane for a week of training, academy games and Tottenham’s Premiership home opener next August.

Carlo Cudicini, Tottenhan Hotspur keeper In Serious Motor Crash

Cudicini’s BMW motorbike collided with a car in Walthamstow at 10.30am and the Italian was taken to hospital where he is being treated for a suspected broken pelvis, as well as two fractured wrists. An air ambulance also arrived on the scene but was not used.

The woman driver of the car and a child who was in the car with her did not need hospital treatment. Roads were closed in the area after the incident which is being investigated by the Chadwell Heath collision investigation unit. No arrests have been made. (more…)

Sunderland striker Darren Bent missed a penalty on his return to White Hart Lane as Tottenham secured victory through goals from Robbie Keane and Tom Huddlestone. Bent had the chance to level for the visitors against the side he left in controversial circumstances last summer but Heurelho Gomes saved his spot-kick, a crucial moment in the Barclays Premier League game as Steve Bruce’s men were gaining momentum.

Instead, Huddlestone grabbed his third of the season with an effort that crashed in off the crossbar, doubling the lead after Keane’s early strike. (more…)

Arsenal 3 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur, English Premier League Highlights

Arsenal forward Robin van Persie struck twice to earn his side bragging rights in north London and put a question mark over whether rivals Tottenham can sustain a top-four challenge in the Premier League. Spurs have not won a league game against Arsenal since 1999, and they fell away after Van Persie opened the scoring at the Emirates Stadium and Cesc Fabregas added the second after winning possession straight from the kick-off.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp made a triumphant return to Fratton Park but Jermain Defoe was sent off for a stamp in the Premier League victory against Portsmouth. After leaving Pompey nearly a year ago, Redknapp eventually took Defoe, Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar with him - and almost inevitably Defoe got on the scoresheet after Ledley King had broken the deadlock. Defoe getting sent off, however, was not in the script - and it set up a thrilling finale after Kevin-Prince Boateng had pulled a goal back, although Pompey had Michael Brown dismissed late on.
