Tottenahm - Go Big or Go Home

Filed under: Dolla Dolla Bills, Tottenham, Transfer News

arshavin

So yesterday I told you that Spurs were going all in with their bid for young England ace David Bentley.  Now, to the surprise of very few people, their transfer dream is looking to be complete as they are willing to spend £36million on Bentley and the Russian baby faced assasin Andrei Arshavin. That is some serious scratch for Spurs to splash out, but these moves could put them on a new level…at least potentialy. Do you think Bentley and Arshavin would make up for selling Defoe and Keane? After the jump check out an Arshavin compilation.

Robbie Keane to Liverpool Almost Done

Filed under: Liverpool, Robbie Keane, Tottenham, Transfer News

robbie-keane

Looks like the Robbie Keane to Liverpool deal is just about signed, sealed and delivered. Liverpool is reportedly paying £18million for the Irish hitman and he is expected to earn around £80,000 per week. That is some serious scratch that Liverpool is paying to get their hands on Rafa’s top target. Look for this one to be done very soon.

Robinson To Blackburn = Friedel To Villa

Filed under: Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Brad Friedel, Brad Guzan, Paul Robinson, Tottenham

UPDATE -  Looks like Blackburn and Villa have agreed to a 2 Million Pound move rather than a 4 Million Pound move for Brad Friedel.

How well has this worked out for Blackburn?  After signing for Graeme Souness on a free transfer (leaving Liverpool after 3 seasons) just after the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Friedel went on to a long 8 years of service that saw Blackburn not only gain promotion to the Premiership and make their way to the upper half of the table, but also gain their way into UEFA Cup competition with Friedel in the nets.

That’s a pretty damn good return if you ask me!  And PS - His first Premiership appearance was against Aston Villa.

Paul Robinson

With Paul Robinson’s White Hart Lane nightmare almost finished with his proposed 3.5 Million Pound move to Blackburn, Brad Friedel might very well be on his way to Aston Villa in a 4 Million Pound move.

arshavin

With Spurs looking like they will be selling Robbie Keane, Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Bent, their main transfer targets have become the Russian pair of Andrei Arshavin and Roman Pavlyuchenko. According to The Independent, Spartak Moscow want £15-20m for Pavlyuchenko and Zenit St. Petersburg has said Spurs are prepared to offer £15.9m for Arshavin.

Robbie Keane To Never Walk Alone?

Filed under: Robbie Keane, Rumors, Tottenham

This is the time that managers are wheeling and dealing, so it’s no surprise that a proposed Peter Crouch to Tottenham move has 28 year old Robbie Keane’s (who scored 23 goals in all competitions) name going the other way.

I would do this in a heart beat as it would make sense for both clubs, as long at Juande Ramos can keep hold of Dimitar Berbatov at White Hart Lane.

Ronaldinho’s Next Move

Filed under: Man City, Ronaldinho, Tottenham

Ronaldinho

Recent news had it as a done deal that Brasilian star Ronaldinho was leaving Barcelona with a deal agreed at AC Milan. Now comes word that this is no longer happening so he is being shopped to other clubs. What clubs lead the pack to sign the former World Player of the Year? Wait for it…

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs

Now I’m not saying anything is wrong with either of these clubs (although I can’t stand City personally)…but to go from Barcelona, to looking to sign with AC Milan and then to end up at City or Spurs..seems like  quite a fall from grace for Ronaldinho.

On a side note, the first game I ever went to in England as a kid was Tottenham v Man City at White Hart Lane. Weird…

Everton and Tottenham taking their ball and going home

Filed under: Everton FC, Tottenham, UEFA

Uefa Cup

While things are going great for Barclay’s Premiership clubs in Champions League, things are so good in the Uefa Cup after tonight.

Both Timmy Howard’s Everton FC and Juande Ramos’ Tottenham Hotspurs are out, in heartbreaking fashion falling in penalty kicks.

Juande Ramos’ luck ran out after last years win with Sevilla, even after the won 1-0 to tie it up 1-1 on aggregate.  Jermaine Jenas’ pk was saved and Chimbonda went wide knocking Spurs out of the competition.

Up at Goodison Park Everton scored two important goals to tie it up 2-2 against Italians Fiorentina on aggregate before falling 2-4 in penalties on misses by Yakubu and Jagielka.

Talk about a Security Breach

Can you imagine the cajones it takes to leave your seat, jump the sign boards, run across the field and jump into the celebrations with your Team as their on the stage with the Carling Cup and spraying Champagne everywhere? You know this guy was at the pub bragging about it and now he’s getting international press.

All the papers in England are now trying to identify him and when he is, you know that police are going to have a fun little interrogation.

UPDATE - The Spur’s fan name is Justin Cole of Kent.  Now prepare for the glove and a couple of fingers.

Now this is how you party after winning the Carling Cup

Filed under: Carling Cup, Ledley King, Tottenham

ledley-king.jpg

When you’re a Premiership player, you know that the English Paparazzi is out to get you doing something stupid to put on the front page of all the papers. People love this stuff and Tottenham Captain and England International Ledley King gave them all they’ll need after getting kicked out of Essex club Faces while celebrating the Carling Cup win with Spurs teammates.

Because security had determined he was “too drunk” to stand, they escorted him out the front door and, without care for the paparazzi waiting King decided he’d had enough and threw a couple haymakers. Even WAG Danielle Lloyd (NSFW) got into the action with a supposed argument with Joanne Beckham inside the club.

Good time, good times.

Spurs Top Chelsea

Filed under: Carling Cup, Chelsea, Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspurs

After being in charge of Tottenham for just a few months, Juande Ramos has already won his first trophy with the north London club. Spurs topped Chelsea 2-1, with a late winner coming from the head of Jonathan Woodgate in 90+4. After years of underachieving, this is proving to be a pretty good yea. They finally beat their north London rival Arsenal after years of consistently losing to them, and now they have won the first major trophy of the season.

On a side note, I’m always happy to see Chelsea lose to anybody!
