Gus Poyet Has An Honest Look Back

Gus Poyet

One thing you have to respect when it comes to former Tottenham Assistant Coach Gus Poyet is his honesty when looking back at Spurs decision to fire he, Juande Ramos and the rest of the staff after their start to the 2008 / 09 Premiership and UEFA Cup campaign.

The former Uruguayan International, Chelsea and Spur said, “Being honest and looking at the results, it was the right decision to sack Juande and me. When you change the manager after 10 games or so, you’re not looking to change the style. What you’re looking for are different results, a reaction, a change. Simple — and it happened. So full credit to Harry.”

Serious Ankle Injury For Dos Santos

UPDATE - Looks as if Dos Santos’ injury is much, much worse that previously expected as he is set for exploratory ankle surgery.

“Gio will go for an exploratory examination, but hopefully the outcome will be positive so he can return sooner rather than later,” said Tottenham head coach Harry Redknapp.

“We all wish Gio well and a speedy recovery because I have not had the opportunity to work with him yet. Everybody tells me he is a real talent and his record suggests that is the case.”

Giovani Dos Santos

19 year old Mexican International Giovani Dos Santos faces a spell on the sidelines after injury his ankle during training on Monday.

Said Tottenham head coach Harry Redknapp, “”He picked up a nasty injury in training on Monday morning and he’ll be out for a while. (Mexico coach) Sven-Goran Eriksson rang me a few days ago and asked how he was. We’re not sure how long he’ll be out for.”

Coaching Change Costs Tottenham At Least 11.9

Filed under: Harry Redknapp, Money, Tottenham

Tottenham

Juande Ramos has agreed to a $2.7 Million buyout that was linked to Tottenham’s placement at the bottom of the Barclay’s Premiership two weeks ago.

And with former Assistants Marcos Alvarez and Gus Poyet receiving $4 Million to split between the both of them, throw in the $8 Million in compensation to Portsmouth for Harry Redknapp’s services plus his existing salary and there you have yourself the cool cost of making a coaching change at Spurs.

Tottenham Planning On Selling Naming Rights

UPDATE -  Looks like Levy’s throwing the two coaches HE hired, Martin Jol and Juande Ramos under the bus.

Check out Rich from Chicago’s comments at the end of the article.  Spot on.

Daniel Levy

The ONLY man standing after the Juande Ramos debacle, Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy announced plans to sell the naming rights to the new 60,000 seat stadium which will be located on the north side of White Hart Lane.

Via DailyMail

Levy told Sky Sports News: ‘Unfortunately it’s a function of modern day finance - absolutely there will have to be naming rights on the stadium.

‘It’s going to be a new stadium so it won’t be White Hart Lane. If we want things to progress, things have to change.’
