Ramos Explains What Went Wrong

Juande Ramos2

Juande Ramos knows exactly what went wrong during his rough start to the 2008 / 09 Premiership season with Tottenham Hostpur and wants you to know about it.

After being let go late Saturday night, Ramos went to his personal website to re-visit a few of the areas that went wrong, namely the difficulties involved with the pre-season sales of Robbie Keane to Liverpool and Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United with which Tottenham took home 50 Million Euro.

Tottenham Sack Juande Ramos & Co, Hire Harry Redknapp

Filed under: Harry Redknapp, Portsmouth, Tottenham

Juande Ramos

In a surprising twist to the late Saturday evening Premiership world, Tottenham dramatically sacked head coach Juande Ramos, Assistant Gus Poyet and Sporting Director Damien Comolli at 10:30pm while Harry Redknapp resigned from Portsmouth to take over Spurs, starting tomorrow afternoon against Bolton at White Heart Lane.

We were expecting something, but I don’t think any supporter saw Redknapp leaving Fratton Park (in which Portsmouth will receive a considerable amount in compensation in the form of 5 Million Pound and former Arsenal Captain and Assistant Tony Adams taking the helm) while Ramos won just three Premiership games following their lifting of the Carling Cup back in February.

“I couldn’t turn down the chance to manage Spurs” and Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy comes out swinging on Ramos and Comolli’s role in the Keane and Berbatov debacle, game preparations and questionable training methods.

Tottenham Jokes

When you’ve earned a whopping 2pts from 7 Premiership matches during a season where you were tipped to be in the top 6, a lot of ish is going to be coming your way.

Tottenham Jokes2

Avid Spur supporter and our boy Ian Carrington sent us a few of these.

Tottenham Jokes3

Really, what else can you do?  And what was Tottenham thinking getting rid of Defoe, Keane and Berbatov?

Maybe Paul Robinson wasn’t all that wrong when he responded the way he did to Juande Ramos from the beginning?

San Jose Earthquakes Partner with Tottenham

San Jose Earthquakes meet Tottenham Hotspurs…Tottenham Hotspurs meet San Jose Earthquakes.  According to the Seattle PI, the two clubs have formed a long term partnership “with a focus on both soccer and commercial development.” Who knows what this means exactly, but hopefully they can figure out a way to do something that is mutually beneficial to both clubs.

Spurs Re-Visit Signing Arshavin

arshavin

Tottenham Hotspurs chased Andrei Arshavin all summer in an on again, off again transfer saga. Th edeal never went through, and they ended up signing fellow Russian Roman Pavlyuchenko. However, after an awful start to the season, it looks like Spurs are back in and confident they will land the 27 year old Arshavin for £15million in the January transfer window. I hope they do just so this ongoing drama can come to an end.

Signed, Sealed And Delivered To Manchester United

Dimitar Berbatov

SkySports is reporting that the drama filled transfer saga of Dimitar Berbatov is finally over after the Bulgarian passed a medical and agreed to personal terms with Manchester United.

Tottenham’s acceptance of United’s 30.75 Million Pound deal included a season long loan for highly rater Frazier Campbell and as part of the deal, Tottenham will no longer be pursuing their “grievance” of the tapping up claims in early August.
