Remote Controlled Javelin Retrievers

Filed under: Cool Ish, Olympics, Toys

javelin-car-2

The Olympics are officialy over, so many of you might not want to see any more stories about them. But I had to share this one. Apparently China decided that having human beings retrieve javelins was something that they wanted to get rid of, so instead they had remote controlled cars do the job.

Two kids who look to be in their mid teens sit in chairs with large remote controls driving these cars (that look like something from that Speed Racer movie) back and forth from the field of play where the hammer throw competition is happening. Usually after an athlete throws the hammer someone is there to take it from the official back to the start for the next athlete to throw. Not here, not at these Olympics. Instead the official takes the heavy hammer and places it into the car, which is then driven back to where the kids are sitting. They have two of them so as one is coming back to the start the other is on they way to the end. I’m told the cars are also used to transport the discus and javelin as well.

Puma “Beijing Jian” Yoka Series by adFunture

With Nike and adidas grabbing all the attention they can get, rivals Puma have been relatively quiet on the whole Olympics front. But they have just stepped up their game and put themselves in the mix with the release of these collectible vinyl toys. They might not have a sneaker in every medal color, but these vinyl toys are a cool attempt to do something different.

Are you ready for this year’s Olympics to kick off? HKLUG is…They’ve created their own reprdocution of some of Beijing as they get set to host the Olympics. This little mini version contains over 300,000 Lego bricks and 4,500 mini figures. I can’t even imagine how long it took to put this together. Let’s hope Lego kicked them down to help them complete this. More pics after the jump.

I came across this lego setup showcasing the infamous “Hand of God” and I just had to post this. I saw this on the Five Four Clothing site which my boy Andres had found off of Flickr. I’m not sure who put this together, but I definitely want one.

The new silhouette behind sex toys

Filed under: Jordan, Katie Price, Sex, Toys

jordan-katie-price-01.jpg

She started as a Page 3 girl, transformed herself through multiple breast augmentations and footballers, sex tapes, public romances and children,a political and music career, 6 authored books,  telly shows documenting her everyday life and we still haven’t seen it all (but we’ve seen pretty much all) from Katie Price, aka Jordan (NSFW) who’s estimated wealth is around 30 Million Pound. (not bad for 29 year old married mother of three)

After a much publicized trip to Los Angeles to have a breast reduction and deviated septum relief (aka nose job) amongst other things, today Jordan has registered her new logo (a silhouette of her naked body) with the UK Intellectual Property Office (think Patents) to be the eye candy for her new line of Sex Toys.  An official decision by the Office will be given within 3 months.

Mom, where’d you put my Hot Wheels?

Remember how legit Hot Wheels were when you were a kid?  You remember back when XBox’s, Super Ninetendo’s and Wii’s didn’t exist don’t you?  If you want your childhood back now, it’s gonna be just a tad more expensive now after Hot Wheels (more specifically Nick Lachey from Jessica Simpson fame) unveiled it’s 40 Anniversary toy car at the low, low price of 72k Pound.  You do know that if you even had the money to buy one of these,  your wife would be picking out those 2,700 Blue Diamonds and the 18-carat gold engine case the moment you turned your back!

Will the Real Dunny Please Stand Up!

Dunny Kid Robot

My boy Dunny and I go way back. From competing at the youth team and high school level, to playing in college together, to ending up playing with the US U-23’s. For as long as I can remember we called him Dunny, that’s just the way it has always been. But for the last 6 years there has been another Dunny on the scene. This new Dunny comes in the form of little toys from the super cool toy and apparel brand that is Kidrobot.

If you are unfamiliar with Kidrobot, head on over to their site and see what makes them a global sensation and why some of their toys go for upwards of $20,000. I think I’m gonna have to contact Kidrobot and see about doing a Bumpy Pitch x Kidrobot Dunny Dunny!

[Ed. note, the Dunny toys pictured above are the French inspired Dunny models]
