I’m down with just about any gadget that could make me feel like James Bond, and nothing would get people’s attention more than an elegant watch that also happens to unlock your Aston Martin.

“The renowned Swiss watch maker, Jaeger-LeCoultre has designed the perfect Bond watch for the owners of the AstonMartin DBS which besides keeping its basic function of tracking time can also control access to your luxury car.The AMVOX2 DBS Transponder watch has been designed as a technological partner for the V12-engined DBS. The watch-maker upstaged all the advances with this unique timepiece which is a fusion of traditional watch-making expertise and high-tech engineering. The chronograph integrates the transponder circuit into its bod serving to lock and unlock the luxury sports car, while maintaining the functions of its famous vertical-trigger mechanism. As the driver nears the car, all he need to do is press the OPEN position on the watch glass (between 8 and 9 o’clock) in order to activate the door opening system, whereas doing the same thing on the CLOSE position between 3 and 4 o’clock will close the vehicle.”

I can’t wait to see what they come up with next…

Omega might be the official timekeeper of the 2008 Olympics, but that didn’t stop Ernst Benz from coming up with his own, limited edition ChronoScope. Two models will be released to celebrate the Olympics. Playing off of the location of this years Olympics, traditional Chinese characters have been used as part of the design of the watch. These come in extremely limited quanitities, so if you are a watch collector, now might be the time to start hunting for yours.

New Nixon Watches

nixon-2008-1

I’ve said it before, I love watches. In fact, watches and sneakers are two of my weaknesses. One of my favorite watch companies has got to be Nixon. I love their steez and the fact that a couple of guys just decided one day in the 1990’s to start a watch company. Kind of sounds likeus. Anyway, they are about to drop some new watches as part of their winter collection. As always, Nixon comes out blazing. Check out some more pics after the jump.

France might have gotten waxed in the Euros, but that doesn’t diminish how dope this Zinedine Zidane inspired IWC Ingeniur watch is.  Clearly done in the colors of Les Bleus and with Zizou’s face on the back, this watch is a must have for any fan of French football who longs for the days of 1998 when France abused Brasil in the finals to win their one and only World Cup.

Hublot Euro 2008 Watch

Hublot Euro 2008 Watch

One thing I really love are watches. It is said that a watch says a lot about a man, and this piece from Hublot would say a lot about whomever is wearing. This timekeeper is the official watch of Euro 2008 and was recently revealed at the Basel Watch Fair in Switzerland. Apparently there are only 2008 of these that were produced (clever) and furthermore, the watch features include 45-minute and 15-minute chronographs to allow users to time halves of football matches – and periods of extra-time – perfectly. How about that!

No word on the cost, but my guess is they are not going to be cheap.

Barneys x Nixon Watch

Barneys x Nixon

I love watches. Always have and always will. A watch doesn’t have to be crazy expensive or iced out for me to like it. I like everything from classic and understated to big, loud and obnoxious. One of my favorite watches I have come across recently is this special edition watch Nixon did for the opening of Barneys in Las Vegas. This watch has special details like a lucky horseshoe at the 12 o’clock position, four leaf clover at the 4 o’clock and the Chinese number eight at the 8 o’clock position. Mix in the black diamond bezel and the gold and chrome accents and this is one bad ass watch. It comes with a hefty price tag, going for $12k, but if you have that kind of cake I say go for it.
