wii-punchout

If the original Nintendo was a part of your childhood, then you no doubt rang up many hours on Mike Tyson’s Punchout. Looks like Nintendo is getting ready to drop an updated version for the Wii in 2009. Mike Tyson might be missing from the game, but I can not wait for this one.  Check out the trailer after the jump.

Wiinebago Tour

Wiinebago

I have become a recent Wii owner after my girl got me one for my birthday, and I gotta tell you it is a lot of fun. I didn’t know this, but they even have FIFA for it. I haven’t played it yet, but game on when we have our next BBQ. Anyhoo, I now love Wii and Nintendo even more. I just came across this “Wiinebago Wiimbledon” tournament that they are putting on. Basically they are driving a Wiinebago (notice the spelling) across the country and they will be challenging people on their way to San Francisco in what is dubbed as the 2nd Annual Wiimbledon (see spelling again) Tournament.

Here is a description direct from their site:

“The plan: Leaving the first week in June, we’ll ‘Bago it Madden-style cross-country, stopping here and there for mini-tournaments, and gas, and probably your couch. We’ll hit SF June 20th.”

I love this approach and you can most likely find me at one of their events on the way to San Francisco giving it my all.

We’ve already talked about the hefty old ladies punching each other in WalMart for the Wii’s, but now it could get a little uglier.  Nintendo has now started to release the Wii accessories and the first off the line will be the Wii Speakers for 50 bucks.  Get em while they’re hot!

Wii petitions

All anyone ever hears about the Wii, besides old ass ladies duke-ing it out at WalMart and controllers going through television screen because some un-athletic chunky kid forgot to strap the velcro handle, is that it’s SICK! Now the power of the nerd is forcing Capcom to make the new Bionic Commando available for Wii, after only being made for PS3 and 360. If you want this to happen, go get your nerd on!
