With the WPS handling it’s allocation draft yesterday, we just got these great images. The image above is Christie Rampone, Natasha Kai and Heather O’Reilly posing with their gold medals on The Empire State Building’s 86th floor observatory.

Steve Nash…Making it Happen at the WPS Draft

Filed under: Steve Nash, Women's Professional Soccer League

Gotta give it up for Nash - Two time NBA MVP, Six time All-Star, Entrepreneur, runs several charities, on the Canadian Walk of Fame, filmaker, organizer of the very cool NYC street ball soccer game this summer, and now part owner of the new Women’s Professional Soccer League.

Not bad for a guy whom Mark Cuban ran out of town (to acquire the awful Eric Dampier) and said “…you know Steve’s a great guy and I love him to death, but why couldn’t he play like an MVP for us?…”

Allocation Date Set

Women’s Professional Soccer League

The new Women’s Professional Soccer League has announced the Allocation Draft of National Team Players among the seven teams will take place the week of September 15th.

With players having the ability to let it be known which city they’d like to play in as well as the teams having their obvious wish lists, the only major thing standing in the way is an agreement with National Team Players Association.

The league is scheduled to debut spring of ‘09 with clubs in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New Jersey/New York, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C.

Still think it’s pretty cool that the Women’s Professional Soccer League paid respect to Mis Hamm with her silhouette being used as the leagues logo.
