I don’t think I’ve seen this before, but the Mexico v El Salvador World Cup Qualifier was stopped for more than six minutes today due to s swarm of bees. According to Reuters:

The World Cup qualifier between Mexico and El Salvador was halted after three minutes on Saturday due to a swarm of bees inside the visitors’ goal. The match was stopped for more than six minutes while officials sprayed the area around the goalposts of El Salvador keeper Miguel Montes to clear the bees.

The game was in the penultimate round of fixtures in the CONCACAF regional qualifying group for the World Cup finals in South Africa next June.

CNNSI’s Senior Soccer Writer and the author of “The Beckham Experiment”, Grant Wahl, was robbed at gunpoint yesterday in broad daylight in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.   Wahl is in Honduras covering tonight’s WCQ between the US and Honduras.

BEAUFORT, S.C. — Officials say an alligator bit off part of a golfer’s arm as he leaned over to pick up his ball at a private South Carolina course. The man, who is in his 70s, was retrieving his ball from a pond when the 10-foot alligator bit him at Ocean Creek Golf Course in Beaufort County. The gator pulled the golfer into the pond and ripped off his arm in the struggle. His golf partners were able to free him. (more…)

The lack of broadcasting the USA v Honduras match is really annoying and frustrating. The closer the game gets, the more my level of frustration is growing. I want to blame somebody for this, but I’m not entirely sure where the blame needs to be aimed.  Instead, we are limited to a handful of bars around the country that have made an effort to get the game. Here is a list of bars that will be showing the match. I’m thinking about making the drive down to San Diego to catch this one.

OhNoTheyDidn’t reports that he’s received screen shots from an alleged sex tape starring Emmy nominee Sarah Silverman and her former beau, host Jimmy Kimmel. The report claims that the couple was on vacation a few years ago and taped themselves in their room. A resort employee is supposed to be shopping the tape around.

My first a reaction, was like, OOHHH NO!!! Hide the women and children! But then I thought, well, seeing SS in the buff might not be such a bad thing right.
